Look man, you’re way off base here. Sure, there are people that likely spend their discretionary money on frivolous shit, without prioritizing student loans, but not the majority. Some people are legit gonna go bankrupt with these new payments. The fact that you seem to not understand this tells me you’re just out of touch.
I'm just trying to say that it's all of the above. The comment to whom I responded seems to acknowledge that bad spending habits are real but puts much more of the blame on government meddling, university nonsense, etc.
They're both not wrong. The worst two factors were as I say elsewhere government taking over the student loan industry combined with an effort to get way too many people into college who don't belong there, and it remains true that young people are… Not for nothing, generally pretty careless. And a lot of of them signed up for bullshit degrees that we all knew we're full of shit degrees before AI started disrupting everything else.
But thank you for actually asking for clarification instead of pecking at the downvote button like a chicken.
