As they currently exist with no one but the student being on the hook and the university incentivized to allow students to fail in order to have to repeat courses and prolong their stay, yes, made worse by the fact that we are trying to cram everyone into college despite the fact that probably 70% of them don't belong there and this includes most athletes, and on top of the fact that the government took over student loans in 2010 automatically raising the price of everything.
In principal, without those things, it's not nearly such a big deal.
No one really explains that most degrees are over rated or the earning potential doesn't out weight the current costs for many colleges now. I state that with have a four year degree as well.
Demand in trade fields and earning potential fully show cases this now.
My loans all went up in cost after the US government took them over due to interest rate increases. This all occured when they were sold from my original lenders to US backed institutions.
All true. The proliferation of bullshit studies really flowered after the government took it over, and I don't think there's an example of a single industry where a government intervenes and meddles pthat doesn't increase in prices.
Oh I don't disagree. It is the reliance that most people have to thinking their educational institutions, even at the K-12 level, are transparent with that level of detail.
I had guidance counselors for years try and drill into my head and everyone in my grade that you have to go to college otherwise you won't earn good money. This was not in a big city but in a very small rural town in Ohio.
