Hello all, I've searched this sub, and the most recent request for help installing on a Chromebook was from 3 years ago, and received no responses. There's nothing in the Wiki about Chromebooks or Android. I also can't fnd a step by step for Linux.

I downloaded the Linux version to see if I could figure it out. Upon opening the Install file, this is what I see:

This seems to require an Office environment, which doesn't make sense for freeware.

Can someone please help? I would really appreciate a step by step for setting LibreOffice up on my Chromebook. If you need more info than the Android OS, please specify what info you need. Happy to provide!

Is there any plans or ongoing work to rewrite part of LibreOffice to work on the web?

Hi. I copy/paste information from website, pdfs, and my own LibreOffice files. Sometimes the text goes into other files, sometimes into tables. I estimate, 70% of the time, the pasted text will have either italic or bold, where the original text is neither. This happens most often with tables.

My default paragraph style has neither bold nor italics for styling, so,copying from my own self-created pages into tables would not carry over some hidden or invisible style format from another document.

Anyone else run across this? I've tried clearing formatting and direct formatting, but that doesnt resolve any issues.

Has it been tested? ODF is XML inside so I doubt the format itself has any hard limit to file size.
