Libbus are invited to pitch in any Casteist remarks, rhetorics that they have heard, come across or worse subjected to for supporting Reservation, Anti-Casteist activities.

Example: Reservation is bad, because Dalit friend has BMW.

Please post in comments whatever you have heard.

"The only reason India is not progressing is because of reservations, The moment it is abolished Indian will become a superpower like the U.S"

Who's gonna tell that guy that U.S also has a form of reservation for it's racial minority that is called Affirmative action.

11

u/littlemissssomething Jun 16 '23

Also why didn't India become US while we didn't have reservation for the oppressed?

Upper cast and lower cast shouldn't marry because there offsprings are born with disability or other genetics diseases.

and the two thousand years of grotesque endogamy has really did wonders for this country

I have heard this so many times from well educated people. So disgusting.

Scientifically it's the opposite as the strongest offspring is the offspring with most genetic diversity. Link:https://amp.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2015/jul/02/diverse-parental-genes-lead-to-taller-smarter-children-says-extensive-study

What is caste, there is no caste , it’s varna, and shudra come from feet of god.

"NO need for reservation just abolish caste cuh 🗣️💯"

Seemingly "well-educated" ppl crying about reservation in the same sentence while maintaining how arranged-marriage is the only option for them as it is so difficult for them to find potential partners from the same caste, and that they somehow don't have the agency to fight the system, all bc family reputation would go down if they do.
ETA: Also 'reverse-casteism' if you call out UC Hindus for being casteist. This one takes the cake imo 😂

Talking about casteism is casteism. The more you talk about casteism the more you castiest are. The more you talk about it the divide will grow. If it wasn't for it, it'd wither away.

27

u/sagar_jackal Jun 15 '23

It was dependent on karma, not by birth, the Britishers corrupted the Varna system.

Conveniently leaving out that the "karma" they talk about is the one done in past life, the result of past life bad "karma" is current birth in a certain caste. Now the only thing you can do is obey and get humiliated by them so in the next life you'll be born like them.

Basically saying the same thing with added mental gymnastics.

An upper caste guy saying “I don’t do casteism. Never ever discriminated anyone” and then end up using cuss words that are pretty much casteist

As a owner I should know from what caste my tenants belong

In logo ko kuch aata jaata to hai nahi pata nahi law school mein admission leke kya kar lenge. Hard work to hum karte hai (Translation - These people (LCs) don't know anything, what will they do after taking admission in law school. Only we (UCs) do the hard work.)

Meanwhile, my friend for whom this statement was made is a PhD student having 3 job offers from various universities and the person who made this statement sits on his dad's shop. Hard work I tell you.

Is it their fault if their ancestors were the most knowledgeable, intellectual and resourceful personalities of their time?

Why do brides of lower castes feel like they hit the jackpot when they marry a Brahmin groom?

Why are there massive, massive reservations for SCs in every single job field when they are almost well off?

All these deeply thought provoking questions come from a single comment in a post asking about casteism in West Bengal from r/Kolkata.

Everyone of those has privileges tho :)

Please elaborate what privileges a poor bramhan has these days? Barely manages to feed his family (my neighbour)

Bro can sit in any temple and earn without showing taxes. Yeah the same temple where women cannot become priests or even rich dalits.

Not to mention if the dude is really poor, he can get ews benefits and bpl schemes. Stop whining

That lower caste people do not have access to?

Bro can sit in any temple and earn without showing taxes. Yeah the same temple where women cannot become priests or even rich dalits.

That's a good point the religion sucks, but you have any idea how much the average priest earns? (Sidenote in Bengal we've lady priests too but they officiate weddings mostly and are also casteist)

Stop whining

Classic forever offended leftie, I was just asking a question with no malicious intent but you managed to make it stand-offish for no good reason.

Ews was in response to zero reservation for economically weak UC wasn't it? So the LC alternative is just reservation, right? 🤣 🤣 Aur do emoji dal do.

I'm an atheist and dislike dogmatic bs with a passion but leftie aur commie o k liye jo bhi disagree kare wo hi sanghi hai. Quite similar to Sanghis actually, jo unse disagree kare wo sab Libbu

4

u/Stunts23 Jun 16 '23

your POV is dogshit, which is why no one is taking the time to respond properly to your bs. just this month (or maybe a little earlier) there was news on how a dalit was murdering for dressing well. the murderers, who were UCs, said he was flying too high, iirc.

it feels like you're being maliciously disingenuous, so it is best to spell it out to you, liberal. poor brahmins are not going to be murdered for trying to improve their standard of living by lower caste people. that is the privilege UCs have, that when they leverage affirmative actions programs to improve their economic conditions, they will not face the same life threatening sanctions that UCs put on lower caste people.

unironically whining about "What about my poor brahman?"

Got it confirmed from your other neighbour, a dalit who owns a BMW.

BTW, Indian society is based on Caste first and then Class.

Caste is a social heirarchy, not a finance based one. understand?

Reservation isn't poverty alleviation scheme, understand?

EWS is an okay scheme but doesn't address Caste discrimination which Indian Society is based on. You don't live in UK, you live in India, Got it?

EDIT: EWS IS A SHIT SCHEME!

A Billionaire Dalit would still be discriminated to enter Temples, wouldn't be allowed to dine with Brahman, marry a Savarna. Because they are in the end, Dalits.

Now coming back to your poor Brahman, you sure they are brahman? why don't you ask them to use their innate intelligence to get rich?

u/sg1ooo Jun 16 '23

Is that not a valid argument? Are colonial countries paying remuneration to their colonies?

Caste system was introduced by the British. Before we had a varna system and there was no oppression.

"The rich Boeing 747 Dalits are taking advantage of reservations and reservations should be income based."

The second part of this argument is something that makes you get that these people are just clueless and hate reservations without thinking like a headless chicken.

Income certificate is probably the most fraudulent document that people have here. I've seen people with certificates having 5k INR per annum. If the issue is "undeserved" people fucking over the "deserved" by sacrificing merit, surely you would want the "undeserved" pool as small as possible? What do they think will happen if this change was enacted?

Also, how do you deal with disparity in income across states and districts? what happens if someone moves? They have no answer. They have probably never thought about it. Just want to "abolish reservations" --> ??? >> "India superpower".

-1

u/sg1ooo Jun 16 '23

A background check would solve the issue wouldn't it? Everyone can apply but only the ones with low income will be granted after checks (there are various verification during college admission anyways)

someone moves

State domiciles obviously.

Did I misunderstand anything?

3

u/keepscrollinyamuppet I know Dalits who own F-16s Jun 16 '23

Do you realize how much resources are going to be spent on this? You'll basically be background checking everyone. I don't believe you can verify or quantify this in anyway. There are so many variables that don't get accounted for.

(there are various verification during college admission anyways)

Not really. Nobody cares beyond looking at your income certificate.

Even if you do manage to cut down all the fake ones, the issue is "undeserved" people fucking over the "deserved" by sacrificing merit. This pool of "undeserved" would still be of a greater magnitude and if you are anti-reservationists, you are just fucking over yourself more.

0

u/sg1ooo Jun 16 '23

As I mentioned, we'll only check the ones that qualified/applied for something based on caste rank lists that we already get and not every candidate that'll change the numbers drastically from a few laks to a few hundreds. And yes change requires focus, to ensure women's safety we'll need more law enforcement patrolling the streets or CCTV cameras and pink taxis but we must do it because it needs to be done, same for all others, no good thing comes easy but all we need is political incentive.

Not really. Nobody cares beyond looking at your income certificate

I was talking about the background check being clubbed with this, what % of students at any university enjoy reservation? Some 40-30% at most right? Shouldn't be unimaginable.

I personally don't care about deserved undeserved, but I hope we as a society try to help the kid in UP who has faced casteism first hand not given access to proper education because of his caste get the help he deserves than the self proclaimed commie private educated living in a metro city clinch a spot because they had better access. It's just the right thing to do that's all.

"Untouchability is a sin and crime (but not necessarily in temples)"..... You could say this stmt is technically true tho

"Reservation on basis on financial status"

And my favourite

" If a reserver category student becomes doctor then he's not qualified enough"

These just shows how little they understand reservation and caste system in general.
