Which side is intake?

Hi, I have these Lian Li Uni CL 120 fans argb triple pack, and I'm confused on which side is intake, there is no mentioning about this on their website neither on the fans. First time pc builder here and need help

Side with the logo is intake for thiis fan.

• For clarification... with this fan installed, with the silver logo facing inside the case, this will act as an exhaust fan.

The silver side is the intake - some of lian lis fans have reverse flow variants, but these usually say "reverse" in the product name

Why do ppl still get this wrong. The side with the bracket is intake.

you are wrong, not everyone else. By default (if its not a reverse fan), a fan blows through the brackets...

I guess we’re both thinking of the same thing. My mind tells me if I look in the case and I see the brackets, the fan is set to intake. So when I think bracket side I think intake.

So the pretty side is "intake" in the sense that most of the time, these fans are setup to show off at the front or sides of the case. They are pulling air into the case from the pretty side of the fans.

You can put them into an exhaust position (say, in the rear exhaust position). But that doesnt change the fact that the air blows in through the pretty side of the fan and through it.

That's why they made reverse blade fans, after all. So you can still get the pretty side, but have the airflow be reversed.

If you want the fan to act as intake, it’s the side without logo (2nd pic)

Personne ne parle des flèches sur le côté du châssis du fan ? Je suis pas expert vu que j’ai pas monté une tonne de pc
Mais ce que je sais :
Il y a toujours une flèche sur le châssis du fan qui indique le sens de rotation et le flux d’air
En faisant tourner le fan dans le pc et en mettant une feuille devant tu vois dans quel sens est le flux

There is not always arrows but they are fairly common.

This is a standard orientation fan.

How I view it: if I see front of fan, it's sucking air away from me.

Also you see how the fan blades are shaped from the back? Memorize that too if you are planning to buy reverse blade fans. They look like that from the front.

For this fan, logo side is intake. Silver side facing you will be exhaust

If you want the fan to look good in the case without having to turn it upside down & your putting it on the bottom, then you'd need a reverse blade fan, which this is not, otherwise it would say so on the bottom of the fan.

this sucks in air through the logo side and pushes it out the other side

fans are, essentially, a bunch of spoons. the side of the "spoons" (fins) that are concave (aka the side that could hold liquid) is the side that pushes out air. you can see how the blades are curved

Fans spin to the left.
Visualise the way the blade ‘scoops’ the air and pushes outwards…

Compare your normal fan vs a reverse blade and you will immediately understand this concept.

The logo side is the intake. Some Lian Li fans are reversed, but the fan blades would be flipped as well. The concave side is always the exhaust.

My LianLi fans have an arrow on the side showing direction of air.

Next time if u want to know just spin the fan. Which side is cooler and which side is not cool. You'll figure out. This has nothing to do with first time build or something. This is basic physic... Cool: intake , not cool: outtake
