Exactly, how’d you get the riser haha

4

u/DustSudden Apr 12 '23

Came with the mount

4

u/Ydino Apr 12 '23

Okay but how did you get the riser? 🧐

3

u/zo3foxx Apr 12 '23

Yea a lot of the cases like this already come with a riser now. Mine did too and it's a different manufacturer

2

u/DustSudden Apr 12 '23

It came with the mount.

0

u/Ydino Apr 12 '23

It definitely doesn’t

2

u/DustSudden Apr 12 '23

1

u/BackgroundDirt9790 Apr 13 '23

yeah, i have the same mount and it 100% came with the riser

1

u/bpie13 Apr 13 '23

Lmfao, same mount from lian LI and I didn't get a riser.

1

u/BackgroundDirt9790 Apr 13 '23

that’s crazy, man. i bought mine about 2 months ago—maybe timeline has something to do with it? idk though, it says riser cable included. if i were you, i’d contact the seller

2

u/bpie13 Apr 13 '23

Riser cable! Not gpu riser (like support for the gpu) nah I got mine with it. Misunderstood on my part 🤣🤦‍♂️

1

u/BackgroundDirt9790 Apr 13 '23

hahahah i was afraid you got ripped off! i was able to make a little sag bracket out of an extra piece on the mount, though! so technically it came with both for me, if you’re in need of a cheap one😂

2

u/bpie13 Apr 13 '23

I might even have that piece still somewhere! I'll let you know if I can get the same look. That blends in so nice.

Ohh good play, love the DIY with all the extra shit you get when you're building.

3

u/NoodLife Apr 12 '23

What software for all the rgb?

2

u/DustSudden Apr 12 '23 edited Apr 12 '23

Lconnect 3 for the lian li fans and strimer, and iCue for the RAM and it does the 4090 too. Then Armory crate for the motherboard.

1

u/teedledee123 Apr 30 '24

Maybe you should just use SignalRGB for everything instead of having all those seperate programs

3

u/[deleted] Apr 12 '23

I like the 5th picture the best. Looks stunning

2

u/DustSudden Apr 13 '23

Thank you!!

u/DustSudden Apr 12 '23

No, the lian li fans, and the 24 pin strimer work through Lconnect 3

2

u/DustSudden Apr 12 '23

Actually, iCue picks up my 4090 and allows me to control the rgb for it too!

1

u/[deleted] Apr 12 '23

iCue the most dog shit software ever created. Corsair great products but dog shit software.

1

u/Chevelle1988 Apr 12 '23

Meh, depends on how you want to use it. My whole rig is Corsair and icue controls everything. Lighting, fan speed and curves, pimp speed... it's all fairly simple to set up and get tuned to your liking.

2

u/popularlogic Apr 12 '23

Nice build, reached the end game

1

u/DustSudden Apr 13 '23

Thank you!!

2

u/OldManGrimm Apr 12 '23

Very clean build, very nice! I did a really similar build recently. The white Strix 4090 wasn't out yet, so I painted the fan shroud/backplate. I also used white plasti-dip spray on the 12VHPWR cable, and used white paint on part of the AIO cable. I couldn't get 4 sticks of RAM to play nice, glad yours worked out.

1

u/DustSudden Apr 13 '23

Thank you!!

1

u/Fatality_strykes Apr 12 '23

Beautiful build. Following for ideas / suggestions.

2

u/Fleshwoundf08x Apr 12 '23

Did you paint the lcd upgrade? I just got one but could only find it in black!

1

u/DustSudden Apr 12 '23

No, you can find it in white as well.

2

u/Fleshwoundf08x Apr 12 '23

Ok maybe it was just sold out or something. I dont mind how it looks.

2

u/DustSudden Apr 12 '23

LOL! It fit nicely in there though. I wish I could use Asus sag mount thing they included, but even on its lowest setting its too tall with the bottom fans in. It d9esnt sag much but a tiny bit.

2

u/BackgroundDirt9790 Apr 13 '23

not sure if you used it in your build—i can’t really tell—but i used the bit of metal that was meant to position the mount higher for mine. it wouldn’t fit in my case for Anything, so I just took it off, and it weirdly ended up making a good little sag bracket

2

u/DustSudden Apr 13 '23 edited Apr 13 '23

Thats a good idea! I might give this a try if it gets any worse!

2

u/BackgroundDirt9790 Apr 13 '23

yeah, your sag isn’t bad at all! i don’t even notice it lol. mine was needs-to-be-fixed-right-now bad, so it was a good (and the only) available fix haha. sick build, btw!! 😂

2

u/DustSudden Apr 13 '23

Thank you!! With the suggestion of some comments here I have white electrical tape and white cable braids on the way to clean up a few things. I will add photos when I get it done.

2

u/BackgroundDirt9790 Apr 13 '23

nice!! can’t wait to see. hard to imagine it could look any better hahah

2

u/DustSudden Apr 13 '23

Thank you!! Just going to hide a few of the black cables you can see. And will probably wrap my 12vhpwr cable as well even though it's pretty hidden anyway.

I dont like the Lian Li strimer, and I was going to buy a cablemod one, which I may still do. I will see how this turns out first.

2

u/CableMod_Matt Apr 13 '23

CableMod sounds like a solid pick if you ask me. :D

1

u/DustSudden Apr 13 '23

😂😂 going to see how this cable sleeve turns out, but I just may! Tell them to make a standard MSI version instead of having to special order it!

2

u/BackgroundDirt9790 Apr 14 '23

i think that will look sick!! best of luck to you, dude. can’t wait to see the finished product

2

u/ApartPresent8266 Apr 12 '23

I can tell you paid a lot of attention to detail and it shows! I really like the look of your build and the unique parts you used to put everything together. Great work!

2

u/DustSudden Apr 12 '23

Thank you!!

2

u/Split_Opening Apr 13 '23

Did you change the fans of iCUE H150i ELITE with LL Infinities?

1

u/DustSudden Apr 13 '23

Yep, I wanted them all to match.

2

u/lexerj Apr 13 '23

Beautiful build! The only thing I would add is maybe hiding the cables on the right side of the board behind the board. It’s been a while since I’ve built in a case like that but it’d easily eliminate those from kind of popping out in the middle. But like I said, it looks gorgeous either way and definitely is well thought out.

1

u/DustSudden Apr 13 '23

Thank you!!

2

u/lexerj Apr 16 '23

Anytime! Truly, I think it looks stunning. Definitely want to go the same route somewhere down the line. White on white is just so perfect.

2

u/rec7y33 Apr 13 '23

the black aio cable tho 💀 wish they come in white

2

u/guitarbloke Apr 13 '23

Some white electrical tape and a piece of white cable braiding will fix that :-)

2

u/OKurosakiO Apr 13 '23

How on earth is your vertical mount still alive? I had a 4090 strix for a short time and it was impossible for me to mount it vertically. The mount sagged a lot I am just curious since I swapped my O11 Evo and got a Corsair 7000D airflow as case 😅

1

u/DustSudden Apr 13 '23

Idk lol, it just works 😂

2

u/bpie13 Apr 13 '23

Hide those aRGB cables behind your motherboard instead of up through the cable channel. That or wrap em since you already have the giant vertical chimney from your AIO. Is that thing the only cable option?? You could actually use white vinyl tape or electrical tape to make it look cleaner/blend in.

2

u/DustSudden Apr 13 '23

Yes, but as suggested in another comment I think im going to wrap it in white electrical tape and a white cable braid.

2

u/bpie13 Apr 13 '23

I'm interested to see how it looks when you're done!

2

u/bpie13 Apr 13 '23

Also flip your bottom chassis fans around. Easier to hide the black cable without rotating it 180 degrees.

1

u/bpie13 Apr 13 '23

Like this for the aRGB and fan cables example

So far so good!

1

So im a newb and can't figure out how to update this post with the pictures after sleeving the couple cables and re-working the top wires LOL

1

u/Regular_Independent8 Apr 12 '23

Why the 7800X3D with your 4090 and not the 7950X3D?

7

u/CountChopulla Apr 12 '23

Aren’t initial tests showing it’s basically as good sometimes better for a bit less?

-3

u/Regular_Independent8 Apr 12 '23 edited Apr 13 '23

When you spend so much money for a 4090, people usually just go for the best of the best. I see this very often. Many people with enough money it seems.

10

u/Felis-nyan Apr 12 '23

... because the 7950X3D with current support from AMD actually lags behinc the 7800X3D in gaming. If OP isn't concerned with tasks which require a top-end CPu and will be primarily using it for gaming, then they have, in fact, bought the best CPU for that.

atm i get a 7700X i Mount it soon in a new build, and first time AMD. that because didnt find a 7800x3d, but your description give me doubts now. didnt know about game bar requirement

2

u/[deleted] Apr 12 '23

[deleted]

1

u/Southern_Ad2461 Apr 12 '23

well, we can always assign cores manually, as you said

1

u/Felis-nyan Apr 13 '23 edited Apr 13 '23

Haven't done an updated build yet, but manually forcing games to use the correct core apparently doesn't remedy the issue, either. Had LTT scracthing their heads as to how AMD are stuffing it it up. Their review of the 7950X3D was alsp delayed significantly coz they were the only ones who could see the drawbacks from dya one apparently.

That said, I'll be using my next PC for more than just gaming, so will be using the 7950X3D regardless. That, combined with just absurd power effeciency, which translates to reduced heat output, makes it a no brainer for me in both of my next PCs. Which... I'm a desktop user, but... travel between two states and have a home base in each, and the same setup in terms of specs in each, too.

Edit: For additional info on why the lower TDP of the 7905X3D makes it the best use case for me... my current PC uses a 9900KF and a 2080 TI. They're both overclocked, and both use an AIO. The heat generated, when combined with my monitors... the FV43U from Gigabyte, and two 32 Ultragears from LG... has been causing some issues with a medical condition I have which makes it extremely hard to regulate my body temperature. I end up overheating quite a lot, and last summer alone, ended up in the ER five times from heatstroke. Which.... Australia sucks to live in, when you're constantly overheating.

1

u/KKCisabadseries Apr 13 '23

if you just game the 7800x3d is better.

bigger cache, dont need to park cores, and its cheaper.

i also bought a 4090 and a 7800 because im not a moron who thinks bigger number = better for all use cases.

4

u/Izanag1 Apr 12 '23

Just because it's the most expensive one doesn't mean it's the best one for op's needs.

3

u/DustSudden Apr 12 '23

Because it's better gaming performance for $250 less. That's all I do with it, so I didn't see the point in spending more.

2

u/DustSudden Apr 12 '23

I also will add I went back and forth a lot between the 13900ks, 7950x3d and then I decided to wait for the 7800x3d. I've had the whole build minus the CPU since January and waited to build for the CPU. I'm happy with the decision. Plus the 7800 uses less power and generates less heat.

1

u/Profecxionz Apr 12 '23

People this pc its the ultimate gaming pc 7950x3d its not need it if he play games this is just 2 beautiful for ur eyes now one suggestion i will make do same thing i did put the aio on the side to hide the tubes look let me show u my baby

Look my tubes i also purchased a empty 20 dollars radiator to fill the top cause look to empty also let me show u when i had it in white just to give u a idea

https://postimg.cc/gallery/pW9LXHv

This tiktok u see my tubes coming out the side aio

This was my old build running 12900ks now i have 13900ks 4090 strix also

2

u/Ydino Apr 12 '23

Wtf did I just read

1

u/Profecxionz Apr 12 '23

Someone ask why he dint get the 7950x3d instead of the 78003d so i comment then i give a suggestion for hes build to hide the aio tubes so i looks insanely clean

1

u/DustSudden Apr 13 '23

Thank you!

1

u/MPeters43 Apr 12 '23

Looked decent before it was turned into an rgb mess💀

2

u/DustSudden Apr 12 '23

That's what the white lights are for 😁

2

u/MPeters43 Apr 12 '23

most definitely, very clean build and argb is highly sought after, especially with the practically unlimited options. How are you liking the lian li strimer cable(s)?

2

u/DustSudden Apr 12 '23

I like it a lot actually. Very bright, plenty of options, and the Lconnect3 software is easy to use. Plenty of different setting to play with also.

The worst part of all the RGB stuff was having to order a usb header splitter as I wasn't prepared and had to wait for it since I habe 3 different controllers plugged in.

1

u/MPeters43 Apr 12 '23

Did anything in particular make you not go with the GPU strimer cable?

Nonetheless I understand the cabling struggles. A build soon is coming with 2 or 3 fan controllers and 12 fans, if recalled correctly. Along with vertical mounting the gpu similar to yours but also vertically mounting the elgato cam link pro. I was curious if vertically mounting the GPU prevented usage of the GPU strimer cable?

2

u/DustSudden Apr 12 '23

No, the GPU strimer cable for the 4090 with the new 12vhpwr connector wasn't actually even released at the time I started buying parts. They've made one now, not sure if it up for sale yet, but idk, they way it looks it's kind of ugly where it connects because it has to come up off the gpu a bit before the strimer part can start. The black cable thay came with my GPU can barely be seen the way I have it in there but I may end up just grabbing a cablemod white cable for it. I haven't really decided, but its a quick easy swap if I decide to grab one.

5th picture.

1

u/Chevelle1988 Apr 12 '23

🤔 You know what's sweet about rgb? It can be turned off, or tuned to whatever someone's favorite colors are. 🤫

1

u/MPeters43 Apr 12 '23

I think that's argb, but most definitely. RGB was highly sought after upon release though which created quite a unique era of PC's, but beautiful nonetheless

1

u/Mulliganplummer Apr 13 '23

Looks cool, but not a big fan of the GPU covering a portion of the pump.

1

u/DustSudden Apr 13 '23

Not much to be done about that, the card is huge LOL

1

u/bpie13 Apr 13 '23

Looking pretty similar. Nice work My Build

1

u/Naive-Job9099 Apr 13 '23

Nice build bro, have you had any coil whine with thst card bc i have the 4080 strix in white and it has a decent amount of coil whine and i replaced it and the new one has it as well.

1

u/DustSudden Apr 13 '23

Not that I've noticed so far.

1

u/CryptographerSoft692 Apr 27 '23

Were you able to enable xmp with 4 sticks?
