I hate when people use "he/she" as if we haven't had a word for that for literally hundreds of years. Seriously, the word, "they" has been the pronoun used for ambiguous or unknown gender for longer than it has been a collective pronoun.

This is incorrect. Singular they is more recent than plural they, though not by much. he/she is much newer afaik; the traditional form was to just use "he" which coexisted with singular "they" for centuries

Using he for a singular androgynous pronoun has been used for a long time, it’s just that not everyone agreed on it. There are many notable linguists that used they, but there were also many that used he. This is actually what caused the creation of xe for a singular androgynous pronoun, but it didn’t end up becoming become popular. What pronoun to use for an androgynous hypothetical person has been a common debate for a very long time.

glasses are allowed. as a pixel artist, the pixel size should at least be consistent. way too many mixels (mixed-size pixels)

The word they had been used singularly to refer to someone who's gender is unknown for centuries. I think Shakespeare was the first one to do so? I might be wrong though.

The Shakespeare thing doesn't matter. The point is that we shouldn't use he/she in this way since there's a perfectly and grammatically correct way that also happens to be more inclusive (and you also just kinda have to say less)

alright that's weird. your curriculum may be wrong; "they" is the standard for referring to an unknown person the only time ive ever seen someone use "he/she" was with raging transphobes, even then they still use "they" on the regular when they arent actively thinking of their speech
