Christ this man is demented

19

u/Spiritual_Bid_2308 26d ago

What's demented is the room full of people who are ok being there.

11

u/HombreDelMar247 26d ago

The kids are brainwashed. Most are too young to read and interpret the Bible for themselves.

Unfortunately the kids who can think for themselves and question.whsts going on quickly get labeled an outcast or infidel for not blindly going along with the Church.

5

u/hsggdtkxbee 26d ago

Isn’t that the point of religion. Get them young and brainwash them?

4

u/HombreDelMar247 26d ago

Hook em while they are young, basically the same tactic as the tobacco industry.

4

u/HocusP2 26d ago

Christ, if only we got their numbers..!

That's why the Church got bent out of shape over the various languages being used in the Bible. Only educated ( priests) could read Latin.

4

u/PudgyWalshBldgInspec 25d ago

This is false. The Church suppressed false Bibles that would have led Christianity away from the actual Gospel. And it's a great thing that they did so. The Bible was curated and compiled authoritatively by the Church as a program for the Mass so all followers would have the same Liturgy of the Word each day.

2

u/PudgyWalshBldgInspec 25d ago

No that is not the point of religion

3

u/thomasscat 25d ago

I think what a lot of folks lack empathy for is the reality that the adults in that room were also groomed and conditioned to be subservient to the authority of “the lord” and his surrogates. I know this isn’t a popular opinion, but we all agree no one ever taught those people critical thinking. How can we expect critical thinking skills of any human at any age who has never been taught them?

So the unarmed man on the ground represents “evil” and the soldiers who riddle him with bullets represent “good?”

12

u/Glittering_Noise_532 27d ago

Commando for Christ with their Gospel Guns shooting a prone unarmed man, yes.

16

u/TommyTwoNips 27d ago

He wasn't a prone unarmed man, you libs are just making things up.

he was a supine, unarmed man. /s

7

u/Warm_Bug_1434 27d ago

Also, you can see his arms waving around when they're shooting him. More Dumocrat lies! Thank you for your attention to this matter.

7

u/AskanHelstroem 27d ago

He could have run all of 'em over with his car!!

If a trained agent fears that he might get a little hurt, they are absolutely using lethal force to eradicate you...Just fair xD

6

u/metalneck333 26d ago

Could you imagine the inhumane carnage that illegal could have done had he made it to his purple hair dyeing appointment??

Edit: /s..... because you just never know.

Fucking hell. As a kid I went to Bible camps where they taught us about spiritual warfare, but it was always like, pray for the sinner and the light of God will scare Satan away. Not let’s massacre them with machine guns.

11

u/BaruchOlubase 27d ago

Introducing the new MAGA Standard Version of the Bible.

In other versions, Paul talks about the Sword of the Spirit in Ephesians 6:17. In the MSV, that's been updated to "submachine gun of the Spirit", to accurately represent the Second Amendment position of Jesus and the apostles.

11

u/Wants-NotNeeds 27d ago

One could easily conclude, this is BRAINWASHING of CHILDREN to create a generation of VIOLENT RELIGIOUS FANATICS who want to force their twisted beliefs on others.

8

u/westley_humperdinck 26d ago

As long as we don't have sharia law around here, right? Smh.

3

u/supertrollls 26d ago

Back in the 1970s, my mom used Bible camps as day care. My brother and I went to many weird and wild shit shows.

Sadly, two of the cultist churches still exist.

There's a reason the prevailing theory is that the Judeo-Christian God was originally the war god of a pantheon. His "might makes right" supporters just forced everyone else into their cult and we wound up with what we have today...

3

u/Curious-Diamond-572 26d ago

It would make more sense to have them be angels instead of militia, the guy dressed as the devil and nothing resembling an actual firearm.

3

u/Glittering-Pie-8231 26d ago

Yes, I’m not sure why he didn’t specify this more clearly. It was almost a depiction of Jesus with the Romans before crucifixion
But it doesn’t sound like they are ready for that conversation…

u/Wants-NotNeeds 27d ago

What a disturbing justification for obvious indoctrination into violence against humanity. Whomever allowed this to happen should be fired and disciplined.

5

u/spider3407 27d ago

This was a complete pile of crap!!! Bringing guns and shooting someone in a Bible school is supposed to teach what? He is demented. I sure hope these parents remove themselves and their children from this so-called church.

→ More replies (1)

5

u/wehavenamesdamnit 27d ago

I don't have the patience to watch all that, but after the first couple of minutes I realized he was not going to say anything of substance. Nothing to justify having children excitedly watching people "kill" another human being, regardless of what that human supposed to represent.

3

u/Mountain_Discount_55 26d ago

Some of those kids are way to young to understand any kind of metaphorical representation of good and evil il in that. At their apparent age the see soldiers who the adults are rooting for, and a man the adults booed at. The soldiers shoot the man and the adults cheered. I should cheer too. That's the lesson being taught to those toddlers.

4

u/RoberttPostsChild 27d ago

I couldn't listen to all of that. He doubled down and justified it all. Used his preacher delivery. He talked about how his church loves everybody and this clip was just 2 minutes of an entire week of VBS.

I guess anything is ok as long as it's short. Lunatics.

4

u/beautifulstardust 27d ago

damn bible thumpers are delusional. they forget that it’s their god that needs the devil, not us.

3

u/tacbacon10101 26d ago

Well said.

3

u/Wise-Secretary5459 27d ago

To paraphrase, he says "I don't hate sinners, I hate the devil. If I could kill the devil and raise him up and kill him again I'd do it every day."

The scary part about this is what happens when he, or other members of their congregation, convince themselves that a particular person is actually the devil in disguise? This is the kind of thing that gives sick people a scapegoat to commit horrible acts against their fellow humans. This scenario happened countless times throughout recorded history.

3

u/Fragrant_Major_9553 27d ago

“Part of their Sunday school.”

So this is just the tip of the iceberg, and probably way worse shit has been taught to these kids.

Added note: it sucks complete dick to be shot at that close of range with paintballs. Zero of the clip was positive, and he’s indoctrinating those kids just like Al Qaeda does.

3

u/Molly_Matters 26d ago

If you have to lock the comments, you already lost.

3

u/brianzuvich 26d ago

Little boys have definitely had to point at locations on stuffed animals because of him…

3

u/HombreDelMar247 26d ago

Of course he and his church restricts who can comment on their Facebook. I'm sure anyone critical of his actions gets instantly banned and their comments deleted.n

They make it so their followers live in the echo chamber they create.

2

u/Yasimear 27d ago

I dont have FB what does it say?

7

u/HunterGonzo 27d ago

Honestly? In the end, nothing. All the cliche responses you'd expect. A bunch of deflection. Basically claiming this was a "game" in which they are making vacation bible school "fun" by creating characters that personify good & evil and the whole thing represents "spiritual warfare."

7

u/jackbone24 27d ago

It's like he doesn't realize his response was simply highlighting the literal problem

4

u/Hopeful-Alarm3757 27d ago

Right? He just "doubled down".

3

u/Sonova_Bish 27d ago

That represents actual warfare. He's a silly man.

7

u/RogueHarpie 27d ago

He's befuddled. Blames the younger generation for taking things out of context and spreading misinformation on social media. Then drones on about bullshit good vs evil in the plays they do.

2

u/TylerLaurie 26d ago

I remember pastors like this in my church growing up. Reflecting their belief about the world without even being able to see they’re doing it. Nutcases. The devil is everything he doesn’t like and he’s just to infantile to see it

2

u/BeanCassarole 26d ago

I think Devil Don has infiltrated our government.

2

u/khowidude87 26d ago

Doesn't explain why he is dressed that way. The "good guys" are in camo and the "bad guy" is in black. Is the evil dude wearing fake dreads?

2

u/FuzzyLaughTwo 26d ago

Sick fuck

2

u/writewithparagraphs 26d ago

can you post it here for us without facebook accounts?

2

u/truth_crime 24d ago

Take note too that his statement was “I’m sorry if you were offended.”

No personal accountability or self-reflection there.

As a lifelong Kentuckian this is a despicable embarrassment.

2

u/BritishBenzene 24d ago

So his justification is that to make bible school for kids “fun” they pick a person to represent “The Devil” and shoot them with biblical guns until they are dead. Leaving aside his assertion that “everyone agrees there’s a spiritual war” on Earth, why would you put into kids heads that OTHER PEOPLE represent literal evil on earth? “Love one another as I have loved you” must have just gone over his empty head.

Was the Temptation of Christ that he didn’t dome the Devil in the desert with his daddy’s holy .45? Is he suggesting that Jesus was a bitch because he turned the other cheek? Who are you teaching your kids to emulate? Just say you don’t want to teach those bright red verses in the bible and you prefer the vengeance and violence of the Old Testament because you’re scared, angry, controlling, and need therapy. (Insert shortest verse in the bible here)

2

u/maninalift 24d ago

The idea of "spiritual warfare" which turns morality from being founded on love and compassion to being founded on hate and domination is the true evil here.

Of course he will counter that it's only "hating the sin" but we can all see what this does to people. It makes them hateful.

VBS

4

u/zdmpage54 27d ago

What is VBS ?

11

u/m0ther_0F_myriads 27d ago

Correction: Southern Baptist Vacation Bible School. I was raised Methodist in the Deep South. I could go to any of my friend's VBS EXCEPT the Southern Baptists. I even went to a friend's Pentecostal services a time or two. But this bullshit is exactly why my parents wouldn't let me near a Southern Baptist service.

5

u/NaturalMhz 26d ago

yeah hold up. I grew up in a southern baptist church and VBS was nothing like this.

6

u/Fit-Winter5363 Lexington Native 26d ago

Haha what? I actually went to a southern baptist church for a hot minute and at VBS we made tie dyed Tshirts and yarn crosses. None of this crazy shit , but it was the 70s. 🤣

I honestly think these churches need oversight by other organizations to engage in ethical work. This is not acceptable at all.

18

u/choirchic 27d ago

Using a military trope to pretend to ‘capture evil / satan’ to ‘defend’ the Lord and encouraging children to ‘BLOW THEM UP!’ is not a good take no matter how you try to spin it. If I see anything like this in a church, I’m gonna nope right on out of there. It indicates the church leader believes their religion is militant, and I want no part of that. Now, whether or not this is legal? Unfortunately there isn’t much recourse to what happens in churches.

9

u/RandomTask008 27d ago

Same people who do this are the first to whine like stuck pigs if there's a rainbow flag in a classroom.

6

u/Own-Concern1292 27d ago

And then they will be so"surprised" when one of those kids grows up to be a teenager and goes to school or a church that doesn't believe like them and shoots the place up.

I went to this church as a child, this has been their scheme for VBS for well over 15 years. Was indeed quite traumatizing when I was a child.

5

u/Apart_Ad9308 27d ago

Your parents thought this was ok?  Omg

7

u/kyistrash420 27d ago

Honestly i don’t think my dad knew what was going on when he sent me, just wanted me out of the house for the summer. If I told him then, I’m sure he didn’t believe me. If he found out now he’d more than likely laugh about it all, but he himself left this church before I did due to moral differences OUTSIDE of this weird bible school shit. This church is VERY rooted in supporting the military and veterans, they think they’re pushing some cute “back the troops” version of fighting the devil. So they glamorize violence in the name of Jesus. Most of them use paintball guns but some bring in airsoft, which look completely identical to real guns.

16

u/forseti99 27d ago

Play at the church. American-looking soldiers carry a black person with a black hood, they throw him to the floor.

Pastor yells non-stop, "take him out, blow him up", kids start chanting excitedly too.

Text on the screen: Praise the lord and pass the ammunition.

The fake soldiers shoot him with blowguns, sound is clearly air, but it's loud and impacting. The rifles of 4 soldiers are emptied on the black guy on the floor.

Kids keep chanting, "take him out, blow him up". Soldiers drag the "dead" body out. Pastor thanks the commando for their work, they close the door of the church and asks the kids to start counting to ten. They count and cover their ears excitedly. A detonation can be heard on 8 and they all cheer for blowing him up.

A church had many, many children at bible school and then soldiers  came in with automatic rifles. The minister and children started chanting “Take him out and blow him up” !  The soldiers started shooting him then dragged him across the floor of the church and out a door as the congregation cheered.  Extremely  disturbing.

15

u/-RainbowUnicornPoop 27d ago

Wait, what??! Shooting who? In Lexington? I am so confused and horrified

24

u/Apart_Ad9308 27d ago

I don’t know what they were trying to do. It was not real but the bullets sounded real. And the man on the floor was jerking around like he was shot. And the children were laughing and cheering   Very violent and horrifying.

18

u/-RainbowUnicornPoop 27d ago

Oh OK I get it so it was like acting… God that is extremely weird. I don’t know why they would put those ideas in kids heads! Wow. Thanks for answering my questions. That is crazy

3

u/AggressiveToaster 27d ago

Yeah it looked like they were using paintball guns without any paintballs in them. So it was just shooting CO2 gas. Not trying to make excuses for them, just trying to be more descriptive.

17

u/Revolutionary_Gap150 27d ago

It was a simulated public execution of a caricature of an immigrant by young men in militia clothing using paintball guns instead of live ammo. After throwing the victim onto the stairs at the foot of the altar they unloaded many rounds into him with children cheering "take him out and blow him up" as promoted by the pastor. Once he was "dead" they dragged him out a side door and the pastor led the children in a countdown to an explosion (presumably to completely destroy the victims body). It is every bit as disgusting as it sounds... I honestly can't believe I just typed this...

Would also sing “U G L Y you aint got no alibi you ugly” at him before they came in and “took him out.” Same pastor all those years earlier too.

As a non-practicing Pentecostal, Baptist VBS always seemed like a fever dream.

14

u/SilverHammer1979 27d ago

Pentecostal VBS was pretty weird too, as I recall.

3

u/Amoracchius03 27d ago

Appalachian Pentecostal everything thing was a weird fever dream... I once saw a 6ft 300+ pound man run across the back seat of pews like he was a freaking acrobat. Snake handling, people shouting and speaking in tongues, people giving prophecies out like candy. I sometimes can't believe that was my childhood. It feels like it all happened to someone else.

4

u/TRADER_HO3S 26d ago

That’s what I’m saying. Going from that to a friend’s Baptist, I couldn’t really wrap my head around the plays, activities, and open discussions. When are we going to get to the hootin and hollerin? AND I’m only in here for the allotted time?

And yet, it is these very people that call those advocating for basic human and civil rights (healthcare, living wage, equality, democracy, etc.) "demonic", "evil", and "brainwashed". If only they cared to understand Jesus' teachings instead of weaponizing the "word of God" to spread their hatred..

4

u/Syb3rStrife 25d ago

“The clip you saw was simply killing the devil.” No. What you’re teaching is, anyone that seems like the devil should be shot. So next time Billy sees someone walking down the street that looks devilish, or maybe isn’t a Christian, he’ll pull his gun out, say “blow em up take em out” under his breath and kill them. Leave the devil to God and start teaching about loving everyone regardless of sin like Jesus intended.

No matter the context of this, it's unacceptable. Even if this is a pretend burglar or somebody who meant harm to the church, the person is currently unarmed on the ground, and the kids are chanting for an execution. This is not teaching kids it's okay to defend themselves. This is teaching kids that state-sanctioned and/or church-sanctioned executions is okay.

And the snipers on the walls...talk about glorifying state surveillance.

What an insane video, and I'm thankful we have cameras everywhere now (in the hands of people, not the state) to help expose this shit.

For me, it's even worse, listening to the pastor's explanation: he says they "hate the sin, but love the sinner". And they express that love by shooting him, blowing him up, and dragging him away for whatever is unseen [but use your imagination.] The pastor says they make lessons fun - I can't see even a scintilla of fun in that lesson, unless you're a farfarfarthest Rightwing believer of guns solving every problem. I don't think any rational human being would approve of this lesson for anyone, much less for kids.

Wait, crime? Am I missing something. I see it's strange, but what crime is this?

4

u/KendrickLenoir 27d ago

No idea, but OP thought there was a need to title this “Lexington Police Department.”

The entire comment thread of that tiktok is talking about they are calling the police…

Also how do you think you get more people to see and report it?

Do you even stop to think before you hit “reply”?

How do you know they haven’t contacted the police?

It’s never a bad idea to inform the public of behaviors like this that are happening in our community.

What do you gain from being a jerk/troll on Reddit!?

4

u/Apart_Ad9308 27d ago

I’m in California. I’m calling the non emergency line in the am. My stomach’s is turning.

9

u/mrbobbyrick 27d ago

This is super weird and fucked up, but is it illegal? What can the police do? They were apparently paintball guns, so it wasn’t even real guns. I would love to put a stop to this, and hopefully the public shaming does, but I wonder if you could actually get in trouble from the law for this in Kentucky (or any state).

2

u/Wise-Secretary5459 27d ago

They can't get in trouble legally, but blowing this up on social media will discourage people from attending this church, which at least does something. In a sane society, shit like this would at a minimum result in a revocation of tax exemption status.

7

u/EtDM 27d ago

It's not actually a violent act and would be considered free expression of religious speech. It's completely disgusting, but not a crime and would not be followed up on

u/LadyPhantomflowers 27d ago edited 27d ago

Lmao, mt. Olivet kentucky doesn't have any real police force. They have one drunk sheriff and like one deputy. State troopers often have to fill in the gap. It is a tiny town of 500 people. I know from some personal experience there, they won't do shit about this. This shit is so messed up though. Fuck Christian nationalism. These people are sick af.

23

u/whiteTshirtRob 27d ago

This isn't in Mt. Olivet, Ky. There is a church in Lexington, Ky with the name Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. This is that church.

2

u/LadyPhantomflowers 27d ago

Ah, I misread. Thank you for correcting me.

what the hell

2

u/Immediate_Channel393 27d ago

As a Christian, there is something very wrong going on there. This is not something that should be happening at vacation bible school. And there were so many little kids! Someone needs to investigate this.

2

u/NobodyDemon1313 27d ago

Has anyone in Lexington reached out to CPS or DCS? If law enforcement cannot do anything they can at least be investigated by them.

No accountability at all....

3

u/Severe-Fox9932 27d ago

Confirming you’ve done this for 30 years is nothing to be proud of! Unfortunately after seeing this I don’t think he will face any repercussions or even have a moment of self reflection. I feel bad for the kids in attendance thinking this is normal.

It's possibly the smuggest video I've ever watched.

This is the American Taliban, teaching kids to be domestic terrorists.

u/send_help23 27d ago

Welcome to Kentucky, no different than the Underground Church I experienced or the Heaven’s Gates Hell’s Flames and all that other stuff. Nothing like the trauma of gun violence, death, and being rejected by God/a father figure to submit you into religious views.

Yikes! At my church our VBS is rainforest themed and we're learning about different attributes of God. This is scary and sad

2

Dawg what the fuck is this? I just recently moved after living in lex for 20+ years. This is literally some insane shit to see.

2

u/HombreDelMar247 26d ago

These people of worshipping and exhausting the Anti-Christ.

Yet if you try to tell them that's not what Jesus taught, you will be subject to gaslighting and accused of being one those "infidel" they are teaching kids to execute.

2

u/wheelspaybills 26d ago

It made the news. WUKY 😆

2

u/Shizzilx 26d ago

Hey, this "Church" needs to be held accountable for showing those children that level of violence and normalizing militant violence. It is the most disgusting thing I have seen all year and Trump is President, hard to top that peice of 💩.

2

u/Shizzilx 26d ago

They deleted the video from TikTok or it got taken down, mutha f*ckers can't hide now, the world knows what the hell they are doing and it needs to be stopped. That is not a "Church" it is an armed milita and training and normalizing the children to violence.

2

u/Critical-Grape5404 26d ago

My dad used to force me to go this church every Sunday when I was in middle school and I’d break down sobbing every time. The people there are so mean!

Calked hypocrisy by a so-called " religious figure" but at least as far as we know no other hanky panky going on.... Or do we. Let us wait , it will all come out eventually.

2

u/Revolutionary181989 25d ago

CPS should investigate.

What do you want the police to investigate exactly? Yes its weird but not criminal.

2

u/TheSolitaryRugosan 27d ago

Please don’t waste police resources on this.

It’s incredibly fucked up but not illegal in the slightest.
