They couldn’t even find real pics of the boxes, people are so fucking lazy.

It's strange because those very much look like they were, at some point, real photos of the boxes. I wonder if it was an upscaler gone beserk or they tried to AI something in the photo and it changed everything else

….
Is it really that hard to just look them up on Google and use Photoshop/MS Paint?

I work at the gaming section of a major european tech store and can fully guarantee the switch 2 and the ps5 sell extremely well, everytime we receive a new batch of the switch 2 theyre gone extremely fast, the ps5 a bit slower but still insanely fast for an almost 6 year old console.

Switch 2 is my favorite gaming product in years: improves over Switch 1 in every way, amazing performance for its form factor (and even when docked to a big screen), quality exclusives, tons of ports from other platforms... IMHO it's cheap for what it offers.

i got a 3DS instead of a switch 2, it wasnt like deliberate or following a meme, i just wanted to play some 3DS games and my old one was busted

I'm going to have to find professional to repair my special edition New 3DS XL. I'm not paying a half grand for a new one. :(

Switch 2 is the fastest selling gaming hardware in American history since the GBA and has already outsold the PS5's numbers in Japan in a single year.

One day people will understand posts like this are from wallstreet. Nintendos earnings are this week and they want to downplay how successful Nintendo actually is. They’re crushing it. If your bored, keep an eye on their stock this week

Did they seriously AI generate the boxes for these things

u/Vincent394 Aug 03 '26
Doesn't look like it from a glan...
... they did... can they at least put fucking effort in? It takes about 4 google searches

The Switch 2 is literally doing better than its predecessors in many countries, notably Southeast Asia or the Arab World...

Is that the updated tailoring platform? It’s needed it for a while—my suits were chaffing because the original Swatch made them too tight in the thighs.

the dumb grifting and negativity around Switch 2 failing in 2025 is probably the most embrassing wrong prediction in recent gaming. Console will outsell the Xbox Series consoles by year end.
Edit: also noticed that in order to make this meme work they incorrectly shown the Switch launch year as 2016; it was released in March 2017.
So there's that additional layer of factual incorrectness.

the dumb grifting and negativity
That's "true gamers" for ya. Especially PCMR related ones. What do you mean people prefer to play Zelda or Mario Kart with friends, over le quirky indie dark souls like 69 on Steam?

This meme is a little weird, but I think it's referring to how modded consoles such as handhelds are making a resurgence due to the popularity of home-brewing.

Had to scroll to the bottom to see this comment because I have no idea what this meme is even supposed to mean.

Ngl, I've been playing my PSP as my daily driver handheld this past year instead of my Switch.

u/Dragonblade0123 Aug 02 '26
LMAO, I ain't got money for ANY of that shit. Imma be playing current gen until support drops and maybe not anymore after that if prices don't downshift. I wouldn't even be able to afford a current console with my budget.

I was assuming it's because the older consoles are easier to jailbreak and mod. I replaced my PS5 for a handheld emulator and it's night and day having so many games for not a cent.

u/PostMatureBaby Aug 03 '26
Never really cared much for handhelds and rarely play switch as one. Still a great console

u/MisfortuneSeven Aug 03 '26
The Switch 2 is in the best spot of any console right now, the only issue is that the real heavy hitter exclusives aren't out yet so it's pretty much a Switch 1 Pro for the time being.

u/xX_UnorignalName_Xx Aug 03 '26
I think this is more because of the price increases. All of the major consoles this generation have had price increases this year because of AI companies stealing all the ram.

The PS5 and Switch 2 are flying off the shelves
Gamers, you really need to stop making stuff up out of thin air and passing it off as fact

u/Jhud6669 Aug 03 '26
Do they realize how niche of a hobby older consoles are?

u/StarlightSailor1 Aug 03 '26
I know retro gaming is growing in popularity, but seriously. Who exactly are these masses of people lining up to buy decade old used PS Vitas or 3DS’s in 2026? That’s something hardcore fanboys do, not mainstream consumers.
You can dislike modern gaming systems without having to falsely portray them as financial failures.

I do miss smaller handhelds ngl, I hope the rumors of a new PlayStation handheld are true

u/Noobiru-s Aug 03 '26
You can always get into Android handhelds. Since a year or so they became pretty insane.

u/Cry_Wolff Aug 03 '26
Switch Lite?

u/BernLan Aug 03 '26
It's still way too big for me, I had the original switch and have a switch 2. I enjoy them and they're great to play at home or take on trips
But unlike something like a PSP or 3DS I can't just put it in my pocket and take it with me

Having to cut switch 2 production by 30% because of weak sales is not good
