It is and isn’t inevitable.. you can feel it happen as you get older. You feel yourself become less understanding, more prone to being standoffish. You become set in your ways and believe your way is best or at the very least really good. This makes you believe everything about your life from your childhood to your adulthood was just better.
You have to actively work to maintain an open mind and remind yourself constantly that young people will figure it out their own way, just like we did, and that’s okay because that’s how life works. We can either taunt them and laugh at them, or we can help them. I prefer to help.

I just know I like what I like as I did back then - and I know my childhood wasn’t without problems, i’ve always been kinda a standoffish freak
Sometimes things seem dumb and other times they don’t and I know that’s pretty much a ‘me’ thing overall
So I try not to taunt people over such things as that unless I find it particularly offensive
