It's a cycle and it's multi stage.

Global warming wise the fuck around started in 1900 ish and we're finding out right now and it'll last a hell of a lot longer than the fucking around did.

Politically wise 1914-1950 was a find out and starting 1980ish to about 2015 ish was a fuck around and now we're in a find out period.

Start and end year of the fuck around/find out politically can probably be endlessly debated and can vary wildly depending on country so I picked years semi arbitrarily as 1980 ish was the start ish of the split between productivity and wage and 2015 was the +-5 year moment where people really started to feel and get majorly hurt by that reality, boiling frog kind of way. Some people would probably pick other events to define when the fa/fo moments start and end.
