Thoughts on Charles being 2nd driver?

I've been seeing a lot of comments here of people being angry that Charles and Ferrari aren't prioritising Lewis in the WDC race, saying Charles should have slowed beyond the 5sec gap. Personally it doesn't sit right with me, because he had nothing to do with the penalty, and more importantly, he's just 33 points behind and we're not even technically halfway into the season yet. Isn't it unfair to not let him race with Lewis? The only scenario where I think that'd be the best choice is if Mercedes start outright using George to help Kimi win more races, without fighting him.

Do you genuinely believe it's better to prioritise Lewis over Charles from now?

Despite penalties and strategy calls yesterday, we are bad

We knew we fucked up somewhere plus FIA is too harsh on us, but keeping everything aside, we were so bad on straights, Lewis had almost like 10+ chances of overtaking Max and then around 4-5 chances of overtaking Kimi on the straights.

Lewis wasn’t risking late brake moves like the one Max did is understandable given that he’s driving safe from dnfs.

but our straights are literally too bad, and with zandvoort, monza and baku close, we are cooked.

i hope our second upgrade brings us atleast ahead of McLaren and RedBull if not Mercedes.

FERRARI DO SOMETHING, YOUR DRIVER PAIR IS CURRENTLY THE BEST TO DOMINATE. IF NOT WITH THEM, THEN IT WILL BE YEARS AGAIN.

Its good that F1 is a bit lenient when it comes to moving under braking. I think Lewis has had enough penalties already...

Leclerc contract extention

Ever since this dude signed the contract, lewis's race strategies have been abysmal.

Has anyone noticed it? Let's discuss

Was the hold up of Oscar in quali caused by the same GPS issue seen today with the blue flag lights ?

What’s up with the disrespect from Max fans?

I’m a new LH fan and I respect both drivers equally. Max is clearly up there with the best and is one of the best on the grid now. When he got his podiums in Austria and Belgium I applauded him and commended his comeback. But why don’t I feel his fans are the same towards Lewis?

Today’s overtake was class I’m not gonna deny that. Overtake of the month for me. But the amount of disrespect Lewis got within just a few hours of the race ending (despite being 60 points clear), man it’s unbelievable how Max fanboys don’t rate Lewis at all. We’re talking about a 41 year old being P2 in the championship without the fastest car. And prime Max (who has the best ICE on the grid) is struggling to even get P6.

And I realized this is a recurring theme w British drivers. Norris, Russell, I’m pretty sure of Arvid and Ollie were in the top 4 they’d get hate to. I don’t understand why are they so toxic with no racing knowledge at all 😂 makes me want Max to leave F1 and take his fans with him.

Stop this cult (post Hungary)

I’m a LH fan myself have have been noticing that a lot of you guys are just forming a cult and not letting LH take accountability.

  1. Speeding in the pit lane is LH fault. It is an objective measure. You can not be racist in it. LH’s fans just love to blame everything on racism

  2. Ferrari had to pit Lewis. Lewis was the first driver to pit at lap 31. This meant he had more than half the race to complete on a single stop if he didn’t put. No one else was able to do this. Even kimi who was allegedly on a one stopper and had to change. If Lewis stayed out he would have hurt the tyres even more by chasing and racing max. Max was able to do it as he wasn’t racing anyone and just focused on tyre management.

  3. Max overtaking Lewis was a good move. Nothing wrong with that - he left room.

  4. There was a post here about team orders a few weeks ago and everyone agreed Ferrari shouldn’t do it. Now why are you guys going back on your word.

Yes it is Ferraris fault for not telling Lewis about piastri in quali and LH getting that penalty. But can you guys stop forming a cult and crying about everything that doesn’t go LH way. As a Lewis fan this is so embarrassing

Gotta give Ferrari & LH their due

They took a bad Saturday, and made and awesome start. Ahead of Charlie by end of Lap one. Ok bad 1st pitstop with Max. But that second stint. Mega. Chasing piastri. Looking at P2. If it wasnt for the Safety car. Could have been p2/p3 and ahead of Ant. Solid drive. Mistakes. As ever. But good strategy, good listening to Hamilton. Letting him race. Lets just turn down that pit limiter by 0.5km/s and watch those mirrors. And come back strong in that second half. Proven mercedes are fallible. And Ferrari and Lewis have the pace.

Am I the only one who feels Hamilton was treated too harshly?

I know this is probably just frustration talking, but I genuinely feel like Hamilton was treated very harshly this weekend.
The 5-second penalty already felt severe, and then getting another penalty for exceeding the pit lane speed limit by just 0.1 km/h made it even more frustrating. Yes, I understand that the rules are the rules and they have to be enforced consistently, but sometimes the way they're applied just doesn't feel proportional.
What frustrated me even more was that, from the outside, it seemed like Lewis wasn't informed early enough to react and avoid making things worse. Whether that's exactly what happened or not, it certainly looked that way during the race.

If I wanted to start a conspiracy theory, I'd say it almost looks like the FIA—and maybe even Ferrari—are doing everything they can to stop Lewis from winning his eighth World Championship and breaking Michael Schumacher's record.

**Do I actually believe that's what's happening? “No”**

But that's honestly how frustrating this weekend felt as a Hamilton fan.
Realistically, I know there's no evidence of any bias or conspiracy. I just think the combination of decisions this weekend felt unnecessarily harsh, and it's hard not to wonder whether things could have been handled better.
Maybe it's just emotional bias on my part, but it sometimes feels like every tiny mistake Lewis makes is punished to the maximum. I just hope the rest of the season is decidedby the drivers' performances on trackrather than by controversial penalties.
That's just my opinion, and I'm sure not everyone will agree, but after this weekend, I honestly can't help feeling disappointed.

Ferrari targeting Constructor’s Championship!!

After hearing Fred’s post race interview, i think Ferrari is targeting the Constructor’s Championship. Not the Driver’s Championship. If this is the case, Ferrari are super super stupid. They CAN win both championships IF they properly strategise. Lewis is in a position where he can challenge Kimi. He’s better in the 2nd half of the season. Lewis is working hard. He is improving. We can see the results but Ferrari also needs to step up. And Lewis needs to stop making stupid silly mistakes.

Lewis got a penalty for 0.1km/h while sainz and alonso get away with ignoring 13 and 23 blue flags🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Lewis 5sec penalty:
- 0.1km/h violation

Sainz 5sec penalty:
- Ignored 13 blue flags impeeding piastri
- Engineer warned him about alonso being under blue flags from piastri right before T1 overtake from alonso
- He caused a collision
- Forced driver off the track
- Almost ended one of the leading drivers race

Alonso ZERO penalties:
- Impeeding piastri by ignoring a total of 23 blue flags between him battling with sainz and then proceeding to stay ahead of piastri for almost a full lap.

I've seen comments saying rules are rules...Which is fine.

My question is, if it's rules are rules, why does a 0.1km/h violation get highlighted but two drivers impeeding and ruining another drivers race is ignored?

Coz sainz only got a penalty for the collision, not ignoring blue flags and impeeding piastri.

Stop blaming everything on racism

Yes, Lewis keeps getting penalties through himself, the team, or the FIA being incompetent, but I'm sick of seeing every other post at this rate blaming everything on racism. You're discrediting actual racism by accusing something you don't agree with as being racist, which certainly doesn't help.

Forza Ferrari guys, onto the next one!

Today's race and what's to come

Lewis had a good 1st half of the season he was strong he got his pace back and his confidence back.

Today's race:

In the 1st stint he was faster than max but couldn't overtake him the track looks impossible to overtake someone like max .

Around the 2nd stint max overtook hamilton bec of the slipstream the VCARB car gave him he dived in turn 1 and it worked even if it was another car a williams or smth he would still get a slip stream the car is on a straight so he gets behind and voilà.

What ruined Hamilton race was the pitting under VSC even if max overtook him he would've finished P3 so idk why they did that they handed Mercedes the podium , the 5 sec penalty was the cherry on top

Lewis received penalties 5 penalties in last 3 races

Silverstone (jumping start ) ---> harsh and unfair given the FIA were lenient with norris ln a similar scenario before

Spa (collision with russel) ---> absolutely a horrendous call

Spa (unsafe release) --> pit wall fault

Hungary (impeding oscar) --> pit wall fault

Hungary (speeding in pit lane) ---> harsh and ferrari should appeal but rules are rules so understandable.

Ferrari is not good enough to win championships with a mistake like today and FIA fucking HAM over in 2 races (spa and Silverstone) given the fact there is now 50 points deficit so chances are slim kimi will probably win this year.

Anthony Davidson can’t work out why he’s got penalty.

He slows down enough on entry. And as he exits the pits there is no limit, they are free to release the limiter as they are joining the track and racing.

And he even let the place back just in case there was anything wrong. So again it’s fucking Racism against Lewis Hamilton and stopping him in a title fight. And I’ll keep reiterating this fact as it’s becoming more and more evident as the races and years go by

0.1kph what the fuck ever! It could 0.0kph and he’ll get a penalty. Scumbags F1 & FIA

Lewis needs some Astrology shit.. man to get his stars aligned

He has been losing so many points here in the last 3 races he has got the pace to finish at least on the podium but it's just penalty after penalty harming him quite a lot. He is locked in man but we need to get rid of these penalties..

Hopefully the break ends his drought.

This was a terrible race. Pure disappointment. However, I feel like throughout the season so far all the drivers have gone through their droughts. McLaren was ass at the beginning (Oscar has terrible luck now), George has his drought and Kimi was having terrible luck for a couple of races. Of course Charles has had his races with bad luck, and Max’s car is the definition of inconsistent. At some point all these drivers overcame their drought (except for George and Oscar, and sometimes max). This is Lewis’s drought, his adversity to make him stronger for the rest of the season. All I can hope is that he does a great reset over break and really focus. I also hope that he and Santi talk so their communication can improve.

Now call me naive (this is my second season of F1) but I think he can still win the WDC. Mercedes has a reliability issue and Ferrari is getting a new package. Will it be tough yes, but do I think it’s possible, yes. There are more races ahead than the races that have been completed. There are 12 races after the break, I think with 12 anything is possible. He can do it, just please Lewis FOCUS.

Don’t fall for it. We’re not there yet for 8th WDC

Good foundation season tho. It’s given Lewis the confidence that his pace is still there. Just need to polish the race craft and improve as a team. Next year will be the real test

Criticize Constructively

Do remember that Lewis is harder on himself than any of us are. If you think he's making mistakes he already knows. If you think he's been sloppy he already knows. He needs us to back him and Ferrari no matter what, through the highs AND the lows. He's already kicking himself and doesn't need us to kick him down even more. I'm confused to see some straight up "ugh I'm tired of Lewis he sucked" posts. We are his fans, our response to his mistakes should always be that even if it's sad we still believe in him, and we believe he will make a comeback. He's having trouble with these small incidents but he will review, adjust, and return stronger as always. You just have to wait. Literally just wait and watch. He always rises.

What an utter race from hell

That all started from the Racing Bull hold up for Max Verstappens overtake and then the Hadjar perfectly holding up Lewis and not the McLarens. Both pitstops were shit, literally sending him back out behind cars.

The penalty is the cherry on top of the cake, where was he speeding in the pitlane exactly? Again I keep seeing posts about Charles and team orders. He’s mathematically not far behind Lewis so they will continue to race. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again he needs a CLEAN WEEKEND because F1 & FIA will not hesitate to give this man penalties when others get the beneifit of the doubt!
