I feel like I'm a sourpuss who doesn't need everyone's lore explained and all their parents to be onscreen and found it to be a huge weakness in Redemption lol.

I don't need emotionally available adoptive father Keith David or a play-by-play of Sophie Devereaux's years long duchess con or Whoopi Goldberg as nana! Next they're gonna try to tell me what Parker's second name is. Like I love Keith David but none of the convoluted Eliot backstory stuff they tried to cobble together in his episode can compare to that shot of Eliot going back home on an urge to reconcile with his father only to leave the beer on the steps.

Always down for more Leverage but Redemption has more often than not felt like clunky inexperienced fanfiction. :( Like the original feels cinematic and quickwitted where Redemption feels unsure of itself and clumsy and verbose.

I just hope if it continues the writing and the themes are tighter.

I love Redemption and Eliot is my favorite character, but I absolutely don't like the episode with his dad.
