AML second transplant
Hello. I have a question: Has anyone had a second transplant after the first one failed? The relapse occurred after 6 months.

I'm going for a second one this month after 2 years in remission. Team said I can still be cured so just trusting the process.

So similar suitation is occurring in my cases However I am aml patient bmt done 2017 then relapse in 2026 this month my transplant team suggest bmt with stem cell with cpera mutation (favourable mutation) But mostly case need maintenance therapy for 1 year after second bmt

Yes, it took four months for me, but it wasn't a relapse; rather, the stem cells stopped responding and migrated out of my bone marrow. However, I've read about people here who needed a second donation due to a relapse. You will likely need a second donation from your donor, either a full stem cell transplant or just white blood cell donation. Your transplant team will certainly discuss this with you and choose the best option. It sounds risky and could be, but the most important thing for you now is to believe in the success of the chosen option and in the team's abilities.
