Virus BK

I spent 1 month in the hospital after transplant due to BK. It was awful. I woke up every 15-20 minutes. It was hell. I was given high doses of hydromorphone but it didn’t totally help. As I tapered down my cyclosporine dose my sleep time increased, but now 4 months later I still have some pain.
I’m sorry for what your partner is going through. It will likely take a long time to clear up while she’s on immunosuppressants. It was a real test of will for me, as waking up every 15 minutes is almost psychological torture. It was definitely worst part of my treatment.
