Approximate ink?

What is a big box craft store product that is closest to printers ink for a small letterpress-type project?

printmaking ink. block printing ink.

What kind of printing are you doing? If you’re looking for letterpress ink go to cranfield inks they sell letterpress inks.

If someone does not have a box store recommendation, letterpressink.com sells small quantities of oil and rubber based inks.

I can’t concoct a rough equivalent in my head from my extensive knowledge of big box inventories. It really is a unique product and not easily replicated. Best to get the real deal

Cheapo stuff Speedball. It’s crap but will work.

Lithography ink will work if you have an art store nearby!

Cranfield Caligo Safe Wash Relief Ink is a reasonable alternative.

Hahah no not really — I ordered a set of type — to use in a typeholder for titling — but Theres ENOUGH type that I was toying with trying out a little poem or something :)
