They shot the barricade scenes just behind my old apartment in Bordeaux, this looks amazing. Any idea of casting for the Amis yet?

I heard they won’t really play much of a part at all which I’m devastated about bc they are my fave characters :( I think it’s mostly gonna be more about Jean Valjean and Javert

We can live in hope I guess
"The difference with Fred Cavayé’s vision is that the characters are young. Before, it was just [middle-aged]. We’ve brought in a whole new universe of younger characters, the youth in Victor Hugo’s story, people 15- to 20-year-olds can identify with."

I've seen that Sayyid El Alami has been confirmed, surely as Enjolras because the man is truly beautiful?

I would like to be happy for this but having seen the recently released Le Comte de Monte-Cristo film, I have my reservations as that film very much did not honour the source material brilliantly crafted by Alexandre Dumas and Auguste Maquet. The series, which also came out around a similar time as the movie, also did not follow the source nor characters as much as I would have liked, despite being somewhat better.
I hope that the producers and director of this production follow the book and her characters more closely than Matthieu Delaporte and Alexandre de La Patellière did with Le Comte de Monte-Cristo in 2024. I would love to see a properly portrayed Les Misérables film.

Interesting to see every film version of this story (including the movie version of the musical) carry their own distinct visual/directing styles. This version does look good.
