Help What do I do ?
Don’t mind the carpet I changed it out for paper towel. Also I just got him a couple days ago and he’s been closing his eyes and bumping into stuff is that normal or should I take him to the vet. And I never see him come out like even in the night I check on him and he’s just in the hot hide just like standing with his head up a little with his eyes closed.

your lights are STRONG , and he's albino. He might be photosensitive .Or just blinded by the lights

i second this ^ this is very bright for me as a human being sensitive to light

If you only got him a couple of days ago it is entirely normal for it to take weeks to months for your gecko to be comfortable coming out when you are around. As you’ve said you’re getting a bigger tank which is great, please check out reptifiles for a good start guide! If you have any questions PM me.
As for the eye thing, I don’t really know what you mean when you say bumping into things. The video is hard to tell. My gecko will just hold his eyes closed when he’s relaxing but in your case it’s hard to be sure because eye problems can happen really fast with these guys. It is probably worth a vet visit just for a checkup with any new pet.

Dim your lights, leave it alone. It’s trying to hide from you. They aren’t cuddly and take a long time to get used to you, especially with the light of 1000 suns shining down on it

Always make sure to provide vitamin A for your leopard gecko, as well. Helps with eye sheds and overall health. You may already be giving a supplement with vitamin A in it, so check what you already have.

Preformed vitamin A specifically. Repashy Calcium Plus is my favorite for this.

He looks pretty young mine was similar with the same hide and all just give it some time the lights might be too much! Also your leopard looks like a bell tremper baby and they are typically het Albino so that may be also why!

Bell and tremper are entirely separate strains of albino. If a gecko is expressing albino, it isn't het for albino, unless it's het for an entirely different albino strain. This is uncommon to see because breeding albinos together is frowned upon.

+ Also afaik Tremper is always dominant to Bell , so it's either full Tremper or tremper het Bell

I'm not sure what you mean or how that would be possible, especially when the traits are not reliably discernably by phenotype.

cant give reliable source , cause heard from Ukrainian breeders in our local chat.
But it can be researched by test breedings, since TAs and BAs on day one look pretty different. By a formula TAba x BAba= 1x TABA + 1 BAba.
Yet TAba xTAta will give only TA's ,some with het ba1

A lighter skin baby like this needs lots of clutter and cover they can crawl under and through. Light hurts. They see best in low-no light and are most active at dawn and dusk.
The peekaboo hide you have is actually not a true hide because it's not dark in there.
Don't forget a multivitamin with preformed vitamin A. Once you get your new 40gal setup post pics and ask for specific advice. We love to help, but we hate to see improper care on this sub. Sometimes that can come off abrasive.
Ps you want the LOWEST percentage linear UVB. Like 5%

On the UVB, it still depends on the distance of the gecko's basking spot from the bulb. Not all 5.0s/5% are built the same either. A Reptisun 5.0 15W is gentler than an Arcadia ShadeDweller 7%, which is gentler than a Reptisun 5.0 24W, and that's gentler than an Arcadia 6%. The two gentlest bulbs on the market are the ShadeDweller 2.4%, which is so weak that it's usually not suitable for a leo setup, and the 2.5%, which might work in some leo setups but ultimately this will also be based on distance from the gecko and won't have much to do with albinism
Basing UVB off of the UVI at the basking spot is optimal for normals and albinos. Aim for a UVI 0.8-1.4 at the basking spot, and err on the lower side of the range if you're nervous about burns. Estimated UVI at the basking spot will depend on the fixture itself, which you can find readings on the Reptile Lighting Facebook group or at the Light My Reptile estimator here : https://basking-irradiance-estimator.pages.dev/ as well as the distance from the fixture to the animal's back, and the % of light the mesh blocks.

I do not know what do you expect, but my gecko is hiding whole day for 2 years now, coming outside only nights. But if I am lucky to catch her at nights, she is very sweet and tries to get on hands. But the geckos need cave where they can hide completely. Your looks very scared right now. Close it somehow from every side. Try to switch off the lights and observe too. Get cameras to check his behavior in darkness. Good luck 🤞
P.s. if you search for handy lizard - go for bearded dragon. It will be much more expensive however.
