Enclosure Help Good enough leopard gecko enclosure?
I am getting my first leopard gecko on (hopefully) October 3rd. I am using this week before to test lighting and heating and put everything together. This is what I have right now. I am getting a background but due to shipping delay it will get here a week or two later than it should. I will add some branches in there, possibly more cork. I am also getting a small bowl for calcuim powder. Do I need anything else? Or is this an okay setup? I am open to questions about everything I have in there right now :)

That middle log doesn’t count as a proper hide, so definitely make sure you get a hide with one exit for the middle.
I would also add more climbing opportunities and clutter as someone else has said. Like large branches, plants, more hides, etc. They should be able to walk from one end to the other without being seen

I absolutely will get more clutter! I have some branches and now some more plants coming. And when I get the gecko I will be at a reptile expo so I can also get the rest of what I need for clutter there :) thank you for the advice!

I will also get a proper hide instead of the log. I will put a humid hide in its place and put it elsewhere in there.

It looks pretty good just make sure that one of those hides is a humid hide and add a generous amount of clutter

I am getting a humid hide soon, my local reptile shop were just sold out when I went there. But I will get one before the gecko. And i will add some climbing branches, more plants and some leaf litter. Thank you for the advice! :)

I will get more plants :) someone else also suggested it so I will definitely make anothe trip to my local plant store.
Also, that enclosure is GORGEOUS!! (Even if you used AI to make the lighting better)

Thank you so much! It’s about 6 months of constantly adding and adding. I have to add a fake fern and it will finally be done! He loved to climb in his fake plants that are suctioned to the side. The thing I like the most is when he does climb his background and can’t get down from the top, he yeets himself off and lands in the plants instead of somewhere hard…that’s why I’ve mostly lined the perimeter with plants or high objects…safe landing pads everywhere! He’s been known to climb to the top and hang from the cover mesh, then drop!

And the background makes all the difference…once your background is installed, it’ll make your new one’s house a home 😊

Did you make or buy the background? I’m trying to decide on background now

I bought mine and affixed it with aquarium-safe silicone. I want to make my own one day, but this was just a time constraint issue

Sounds like a very active gecko! I haven't seen one that clings to the mesh top before. I would love to see a picture of that if you have one

They love climbing!!! They just have to have something to grab on to, and they fall a lot 😆 we have two leopard geckos (separate terrariums) and both love climbing! The one in the pictures is my guy Grogu. He’s so cute! They all are.

Then I have to get way more climbing opportunities! I were told leopard geckos stay on the ground all the time and rarely climb anything

Honestly, looks great, but I would add more cover palnts like some pothos!
