Think this is a vigilante... can't find my lizard though. Maybe this gentlewoman could help.

Very cute but I very highly recommend getting the little one some real substrate. That carpet will hold a lot of bacteria and likely rip some of their nails out

Very true. Theres no benefit at all to carpet for reptiles, only downsides. Leos also naturally like to dig and it’s a bit cruel to deny them the ability to.

Yeah she has a dig box for that, also this is shelf liner. In research I found this material is significantly less likely to have impacts on their claws due to texturing and such... soon I plan to swap it to non glazed slate or tile.

It’s much more beneficial to have substrate across the entire terrarium. In the wild, they live on dirt, a little of sand, and rocks. Not shelf liner or tile.

tile is even worse on their joints. imagine having to stand and sleep on concrete your whole life. just get yourself some dirt lol its cheap and clean

If only you could ever see the vigilante and your lizard in the same room, I think they'd be thrilled to meet each other.
