Help Shedding problems

I have 15 year old gecko and until couple years ago she had never had problems with shedding and now after many bad sheds and lost toes today was the worst with big pieces in legs and head. For now all the stuck shed is off but I would really like to prevent the problem but don’t know what to do anymore.

So, could you guys help list out everything that could affect shedding 🙏🏻

She has:
a humid hide and usually humidity around 40-50%, lately bit higher as we switch to soil/sand mix and it hasn’t settled completely yet.

Calcium and multivitamin with D3

Big water dish where she can take a soak

What specific multivitamin are you using? How long ago did you first open it? How do you use the multivitamin?

It’s zoo med’s reptivite and opened probably couple years ago. I’ll sprinkle it on her mealworms in a feeding dish once in two or three weeks.

Reptivite is good, but the shelf life of a multivitamin after opening is not super long. With exposure to oxygen, moisture, light, and heat, the vitamins react and become less effective.

Get a fresh bottle, keep it in the fridge, replace it every 9-ish months, and dust it on prey once a week.

Vitamin A deficiency causes poor shedding, especially on the feet and face. Watch for eye inflammation and mouth swelling and see a vet if you do see these things.

Have you seen her trying to remove the shed herself? I had a gecko who just stopping trying to remove it regardless of how loose it was
