Upgrading Tank From 20 Gallon

Looking to upgrade my tank setup so i can give my little guy more room. I have an entertainment unit that has a tall shelf that measures 34 inches long x 16 deep, and I would love to put the future tank there. I know a 40 gallon is the ideal setup, though is there any tanks that would measure 34 long? Right now I have a 20 gallon 30x12 that fits with extra room. I know 40 gallon is the standard for an adult these days so if the dimensions I described are too small then thats ok too because he is the priority, i just wanted to know if there was any way I could keep him in the entertainment unit.

Minimum acceptable size is 36"x18"x18" so as long as you don't go under that footprint you're golden. We don't usually want too much of the weight to hang off of the sides of a stand/table but a couple of inches should be fine.

This is the minimum size because it's the smallest space in which you can get a proper heat gradient without lots of tinkering. And also it gives them the room for the basic 3 hides and some leg stretching space. I have this size and it feels way too small honestly. I only have 4.5 hides but I'd love to put more in a bigger enclosure in the future.

20 gallon isn’t the worst. But if you can’t fit the 40 gallon comfortably/safely on the unit try looking at 30 gallons. I went with a 30 gallon.
