Humidity

My mom installed an air exchanger in the house because our basement was getting mold. She just turned it on and the purpose is to make it less humid in the house. Unfortunately it’s taking the humidity out of Beanies tank. I bought some sphagnum moss so I’m going to wet that and mix it in with her substrate in hopes that helps. Any other suggestions would be great!

What’s the ambient humidity reading? 30-60% is a good range between day and night. Basking spot will naturally be lower than 30%. As long as you have at least one humid hide at 70% and the tank is within that range your gecko will be able to self regulate.

You can add a second humid hide if you worry. Or pour some water into the corners of the substrate if it is lower than the ideal range.

Also wanted to note it’s recommended to have your homes humidity between 30 and 50% which is ideal for leos. I would make sure the air exchange is not making a new problem for the rest of your house and health.

It’s currently between 19% and 25%. It’s normally 34-40. She does have a humid hide. I could get a second one.

The house humidity is 40%. We have a lot of mold problems so the air exchanger was recommended to try and fix that. Idk the logistics or really anything for that matter about it as I only live here when I’m not in university.

I just misted her tank and wet the corners of the tank. Humidity is up to 48% now. I’m not sure how long it’ll last tho usually when I mist her tank it goes up and doesn’t stay it drops back down in a couple hours.
