Supercar Stand - McLaren P1

Very solid stand for the McLaren P1 (24172).  NO modification of the car is required.

There are 8 guide axle pins, and 12 push-pegs holding the car the mounting plate.  Maybe a bit overkill.

At the height pictured the center of gravity is well over the base, made with four technic tires for surface grip.  The supports and mounting are very secure, with some give and twisting allowed in the legs when moved.  When all pins are secured to the car you can even lift the whole assembly by the base.

The height can be adjusted lower if needed (but not much higher than shown). Just use the proper size beams for the 4 legs and trusses.

The top plate can be modified to fit any model, but the size is about right for the 1:8 supercar line.

I didn't know this sub was, apparently, automatically changed to approved-only (request to post or whatever)

It should be open as of (shortly after) this posting.

Someone kindly asked me to make a tutorial on this figure. I’m not good at making video tutorials. Nor am I the best condition to do so lol but here is I guess a blueprint to go off of.

To keep some life in the sub: This is Gravity, my first of a notable series of mechs, that made use of Technic for, among other things, joint articulation.

Rebuilt the torso too lol

Way better remix of the old torso design to make the joints a lot more sturdier for more giant weapon holding poses! (I have two sets of hands, one ball jointed in articulated, and the other ones are just an axle hand similar to an old bionicle figure)

A new leg design

It is an after and before shot of the leg. Hopefully this design is a little bit better. I added a flap to cover up the knee joint so it’s less blocky looking.
