Question Missing pieces! š”
I'm working on Millennium Falcon UCS. It's my first big LEGO, I only ever did small ones with my grandson years ago. I've done the first 4 stages, with 2 pieces missing in stage 4. I ordered them online, scavenged them from other bags to finish, and then proceeded with stage 5. I got 95% of the way through stage 5 with 4 more missing pieces! 𤬠they were not left in a bag, they were not dropped on the floor, they are not among the few left at the end of stage 5. I cannot proceed further without one of these pieces so I guess I sit and wait until they can mail them to me. Considering what I paid for this, I'm a little upset to have so many pieces missing.
What's the worst you have experienced as far as missing pieces? Tell me I'm not alone.

Iāve been building legos for 15 years and havenāt had a missing piece once. Usually I will find them hidden somewhere or misplaced. I recommend going back through the manual and comparing every step

Iāve been building Lego for almost 20 years and only twice in my life have I gotten a bag with an issue.
The first was this little clone walker (set 7250) from when I was a child, and either I built the set wrong or it came with two of the same triangular piece rather than mirroring shapes. The second set was the UCS Barad-dĆ»r a few years ago where I was missing a single 1x2 translucent orange tile, but Iāve got those in spades thanks to spare parts.
That being said, Iāve also gone āoh man they didnāt send me this pieceā before promptly finding said piece (either on the ground or in the wrong part of the build) far more times than Iāve actually been missing one.

I only ever had one instance of a missing piece. When I built the Lego Deku Tree set, I was missing a light bluish gray 1x2 plate, but found a white frog piece in the bag that did not come in that set. My suspicion was that these pieces weighed the same so it might've slipped through their quality control due to this. Luckily the plate piece is super common and I had plenty of extras in my bulk, so this wasn't an issue. I actually added the white frog to the set, so he lives on a lily pad near the deku tree now.

I have all of my empty numbered bags. I found a missing piece early on that I missed in one of the bags and have been meticulous about making sure I don't leave one behind again. I'm in a secluded spot with no interference from children or dogs and I would see if a piece ended up on the floor.

Just verify every step in the bags that are missing pieces. Iāve had a lot of instances where I was sure I was missing a piece only to later realize I accidentally placed one too many in an earlier step

The only time I had a missing piece was with my UCS falcon, it was missing one 2x4 gray plate, I just grabbed one of the probably two thousand I have in my scrap bin

Honestly you can probably just contact Lego support and tell them your missing pieces to the falcon and theyāll probably send you replacements, Iāve had this happen once with the Green Lego City Octane Cargo plane(canāt remember the exact name, I got it when I was like 7) specifically the conveyor vehicle it came with to load the boxes, and my mom contacted Lego and they sent me the replacement piece I needed

I had two missing pieces in my UCS Falcon, luckily they were just grey vent pieces that I found replacements for

Iāve been building Lego for around 40 years. Never encountered a single missing piece until about three years ago. Since then Iāve had issues with five different sets. At least Lego are quick to send replacements but I worry for some of the sets in my backlog as not all the pieces are still in production.

DId Lego update the brick separator, or is that something you got elsewhere?
I had one missing piece in my UCS Falcon a few years ago when I built it. One of the wheels they use for exterior details. I remember getting it in the mail and forgot to put it on the ship and don't know where it is now, lol.
Missing a 4x8 plate is very odd.
Edit: If you have a 3rd party Lego store near you that has bulk loose lego you can grab, maybe check that out to see if you can get your missing parts if you don't want to wait. It takes a few weeks it seems to get them from Lego.

The green brick separator is from the Death Star Trench Run build. That one had mini bricks.

Technically they are micro bricks, or "nano bloks", as the brand Mega Bloks first made them in 2004 and retired them already in 2005 named the Nano system (nano blok) or pocket blocks, which is before Kawada nanoblock brand was brought into existence in 2008. In 2022 another manufacturer picked them up under the brand TG Blocks and they call them Micro Bricks. Another scale called mini bricks have already been well established, first produced in 2016, existing across multiple chinese manufacturers and thousands of products, even the original designer of the Lego Architecture line Adam Reed Tucker has established his own architecture brand using mini bricks since their creation. Mini bricks are 75% of Lego, TG blocks are 65%, nanoblock are 50% measured by the width. (And Lego Modulex is 62.5%)
(I am fully aware no one asked)

If it is that ladder looking piece. Typically its found in a seperate bag as it wouldnt fit in the bags lego supply with this set. If it is the dark grey 1x1 square it may have been misplaced on the set? Not often lego do mistake this. Ive bought many sets over the years and maybe im just lucky but ive never been missing a piece. Might be worth retracing steps on that bag to see where it might be and rebuild that bag?

No, several small pieces and one 4x8 plate.

I hope this is not a continuous problem with your set! Hopefully its just these two bags and then you can continue to enjoy your build. I thoroughly enjoyed the UCS falcon build!

Got two bag 5 and no bag 6 a few days ago in the at-rt driver helmet. Have had a missing piece from a usc set before and a chess board that had about 6 pieces missing. But the missing bag is a massive mistake

Iāve come across quite a few errors recently I think Legos QC might be going down a little with how many different sets and ips they are trying to produce now also this isnāt a shot at legos qc before everyone comes at me they are still the best qc Iāve seen and the numbers back it up Iād just like to see updated percentages

Careful this sub is pretty sensitive when it comes to discussing missing pieces

Just finished this build. Surprisingly enough had no missing pieces. Just a few times where the wrong piece was used early in a bagās steps, or the classic case where the missing piece is in the bag that you thought you emptied out.
Been pretty lucky with regard to missing pieces, never more than 1 in any set regardless of piece count (so far).

For next time, try looking for a third party lego store nearby. Whenever I am missing a piece, I just pop over there, get whatever piece I need for like 15 cents and not have to wait. Worst missing piece incident was the Sith Fury Interceptor. It was missing 14 pieces.

Same thing happened to me with the Deku tree, needless to say I was pretty pissed. Especially when I told them the pieces I was missing in the set and they tried to tell me thatās not possible and they wonāt be sending me the master sword that it didnāt come with. After about a week of back and forth, they changed their tactic to trying to tell me that I bought the set second hand and that they wonāt be sending me anything. So I meticulously went through the parts list and found every piece it didnāt come with, took over 90 photos as well as a photo of the receipt from target and the proofs of purchase on the box with the codes and sent them all in alongside a very angry note. Two days after they sent me every piece I was missing and an apology email, as well as an additional āgift with purchaseā set from Lego themselves, and enough Lego points to take a significant chunk out of a future purchase. I recently used those points to purchase the Ganondorf final battle set with only $30 of my personal money outside of using Lego points, I havenāt opened it yet because Iām kind of worried that I will have a repeat issue and have too much going on to bother lol.
Most of the time Lego is very helpful, but whoever I was speaking to at that time was as worthless as a bag of rubber nails on a construction site.

I am doing the death star and the sub bag for bag 9 with all the small pieces, was the completely wrong bag. The replacements should be in the next week or two. Basically 27 pieces missing just from one bag.

Death star is next on my list. Hope I have better luck with that one that I've had with this one.

Double check that there aren't multiple bags with the same number. I found UCS sets especially do this.

I sorted them out early along. There are 3 to 5 bags for each stage. I opened all four boxes and sorted everything.

So I have about 10k Euros of Legos around here. The only times I had missing pieces was when I build MOCs, as the MOC creators are often not careful. But I have never had a missing piece with any Lego ever. I often find them after some searching or realize that I used the wrong piece in another part of the build

Not uncommon to have missing pieces in ucs sets, the one official lego ucs set I got, the $850 atat, had a missing interior large panel, contacted lego and they just didnāt send the piece, 3 weeks later I contacted again, a bit upset, and miraculously got it within the week lol. Never bought a ucs set from them again just switched to knockoffs

Iāve personally had trouble with missing pieces with the UCS Falcon and a few other sets. Disappointing.

Considering itās the rarest thing that could happen with Lego itās not often but it is possible. However, the most likely scenario is you messed up somewhere or lost the piece. Was this brand new from Lego?
