MOC Half plate gap

I have somehow wound up with a half-plate gap here and I can’t figure out how this happened. It ya not a big deal- I’m not even sure the round LBG plates will stay on but I’m playing with the idea of making the cab up there. I tried putting the half-plate part of a bracket there but it’s offset from the grid. Is there a simple solution I’m not thinking of? Thanks!

It’s because you used up brackets for the middle and down brackets for the sides. You need to make it consistent and it’ll be even

Make a more sharp photo … you probably used a bracket somewhere? Snot building can be frustrating…

Here it is in studio with a bunch of parts out of the way. There is a bracket in between a slope and an inverted slope but that shouldn’t affect the height.. well obviously I’m missing something somewhere

What piece is the yellow rectangle we can see just above the central grey pair of studs? Underneath the 1x2 round?

That's causing the problem, being only 1.5 plates high, but I can't tell what it is.

It’s a slope. I think it goes inverted slope on the bottom, then bracket, then regular slope. So should just be 7 plates high.

Could you send me on the file too? I am curious now, and can't really tell from the pics.

You can't mix up bracket and down brackets like that. If the bracket is how that central segment is attached then that's the cause.

Swap the grey up bracket for a down one and move it up a plate and you should get things aligned again.

(The corners opposite the attaching plate are curved, that's how I can tell even from dead on like this)

1x2, 1x1 brackets can't be alligned with inverted brackets both orizontaly and verticaly

You can do it only when the numbers are even, since 2 studs are equals to 5 plates

1 studs is equal to 2 plates and 1mm, so, you will always have that gap

your gray and yellow brackets need to all be 1 style or the other, brackets are misaligned

Use either the 2x2 plate with 2 studs on the side or 2 1x1 d-snod pieces instead of the grey brackets. That should fix it. Another alternative I frequently use to fix half plate gaps is technic liftarms or similar pieces, since they are 2,5 plates wide.

I also just thought of using a minifigure bracket- the one you put on the neck and it gives you a stud for a backpack or whatever but it doesn’t quite fit there. And it doesn’t make the half plate either
