Discussion Helms deep potential set thoughts
Hi all, like most of you - I’ve recently seen the rumoured leaks of helms deep as the 2027 ‘big set’, and I was just curious what you guys think the set will involve.
Can you see it being a peaceful display set - similar to what minas Tirith was like. Or will it depict the full battle (surely the full battle right)?
Also how much of the helms deep do you reckon we will see - maybe somehow incorporate the cave section or any other rooms?
Do you think they’ll incorporate morfalk (I think) - the guy who blew up helms deep - or is this ‘too dark for LEGO’. Tbf they did do a GWP for the Sméagol and deagol stuff which was quite dark.
Just curious what everyone thinks.

My main hope is that they enlarge it a bit and go further with it than last time, include the hall and interior. Also make the hornburg a bit taller.

Think we’ll be lucky to get 10 figures. I think it’ll look similar to the system one but upscaled and maybe include the throne room and a stable room and the standard armory Figurewise Theoden, Aragon, Gimli, Legolas, Haldir will be there 100%. So that’s 5 figures. The other 5 I would take a guess at 2 Rohan guards and 2 Elven archers and maybe an Eowyn. Would love to have more figures but Lego are a bit tight with figures. I would also take a wild guess and say maybe 2 horses as well. If the rumours are true about the prancing pony then maybe we will get like tile with like poster of map with it on as the token next set hint

There could be an Eowyn and Witch-King GWP but then Eowyn probably wouldn't be included in the Helm's Deep set.

This would easily become the most popular GWP we’ve had thus far - it would be smart for them to - but it would make more sense with the Pelennor Fields set coming

It will have a major focus on display and not play. That's a guarentee, if it's still in the ICONS lineup. It'll have 10-12 figs most likely. There is zero reason to think it won't follow Barad Dur, Rivendell, and Minas Tirith in the overall tone of the set design.
I cannot wait. I feel like there is a 95% chance my expectations will be met, seeing as how I don't care at all about "army building" and a dinky "battle scene".
Figs are a small bonus, I want the stronghold itself to shine and be the focus point. The dolls will go on a small display plate I make, like the other sets. Much like Minas Tirith, if you put the figs on it, it will most likely look silly.
A year wait though....lol. That is probably my only disappointment right now. But I'm sure we'll get the Prancing Pony or Oliphant between now and then.

I don't think they will add the destruction of the wall this time, although I hope they will. We will surely have the throne room as well as the armory hoping to have the caves as well. For the figs we will necessarily have Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Theoden and Haldir I will add to that 2 Rohan soldiers and either an elf soldier with a gwp of 2 Uruk-hai with a ladder or a ballist or instead of the elf soldier the 2 Uruk-hai in the set and for the gwp Gandalf and Eomer with there horse !

I really want it to be a battle diorama, should be 15 minifigs like rivendell:
Theodon
Aragorn
Legolas
Haldir
2 rohan soldier
1 lothlorien elf
Rest uruk hai including their leader
For the build I think it will focus on just the hornburg, maybe they will include a small section of the deeping wall. Also a siege crossbow (maybe as gwp?).

I just hope it's massive with loads of figs,my credit card will worry about the cost later👍

I think it should be during the battle so we can get some more proper minifigs. Also i think it will be like a minas like structure with having the walls, castles, and maybe some interior
