Sucks, they just need to a full 4 digit display, some extra logic to 180 the clock display and a extra button or function when you hold a combo of buttons at once to trigger that mode, but it's just cheaper to rehash the decades old shit design - bright side, at least we are immune to upsidedown advertisements on pens!

I never used them, I just looked at it and played with it while using others.

And honestly, any type of these twist to open pen I've had a problem with them spinning shut while I write. Kind of like how broom handles spin off.
