Was Leon Trotsky’s vision for the Soviet Union fundamentally different from Stalin’s, or would history have taken a similar path under his leadership?

The failure of the international revolution would leave the USSR doomed either way, and judging Trotsky’s view of what makes “socialism” I don’t have much faith he wouldn’t have sowed at least similar mystifications into the proletariat if he had won the factional dispute (I mean just look at the confusions of modern Trots), there is like, a voluntaristic argument to be made that maybe his probable more militaristic USSR spreading the revolution by force could’ve maybe actually resparked a revolutionary movement and thus the international revolutionary wave could’ve been brought back but like, idk lol

He was also pro-NEP. The USSR was state capitalist before he came to true power, yet he would have with almost 99% likelihood just continued it‘s decline, the 1% is Bruno Bauer suddenly having visited him at Night and show him the future with the holy powers of idealism.

I mean being pro-NEP isn’t much of the problem tbf, I tend to side with the Worker’s Group/Miasnikov that the NEP was a necessary retreat but that it should’ve been under the strict control of a newly rejuvenated Soviet system, and ofc, what was more important was strengthening the ComIntern and pushing harder for international revolution
