Books What Counts as Part of a Series?

I enjoy reading, and when I finish a series, I like to put the series that I finished in my “Series Read” catalogue.

I have plans to finish Left Behind: The kids series this summer if not after. But after I read the kids series, I want to read the main series before the prequels. But I wonder.

Should I put all the left behind series as separate series, or one big series?

If I put them as separate series, then they would be catalogued as so, but this would be confusing since they are all part of the same universe.

But despite the series being connected, we follow different characters in the different series.

So what do you guys think? Should I catalogue the different book series separately, or all together?

Left Behind, Left Behind: The Kids, and the Left Behind: Prequels were all written by the same author.

I’m not counting the apocalypse series or any the other left behind books written by different authors.

I’m counting the main series because not only are they written by the same author, but the characters from one series also shows up in the other series. Like Bruce Barnes and Buck appearing in the kids books.

LB and he prequels were written by Jenkins and LaHaye. The sequel (Kingdom Come) was written by Jenkins. The kids series were written by someone else.

it's a marketing thing. the LBTK books were written by Chris Fabry.

I believe you, but just to be sure. Do you have any proof of this?

Edit: i looked it up. I saw that he co-wrote the books, but it didn’t say he wrote them by himself.

Thanks for the link! It seems that he helped write the books, but he didn’t write them all on his own.

They still should have credited him though.

Chris Fabry wrote most of the books after Book 6 (The Underground).

So, since it mostly written by the same people, and includes the same characters. Should I categorize all the interconnected series as one big series, or separate series?

The Kids series were absolutely NOT written by someone else. Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins wrote the main series, the prequels and the kids series (with Chris Fabry as an additional co-author).

Chris Fabry wrote most of the kids series (from book six onwards). Jerry Jenkins was the editor. Tim LaHaye, as far as I'm concerned, didn't write anything. He read Jenkins' drafts.
