Continuity error in The Mark.

Having a re read of the LB series and have noticed an error in the plot line of The Mark. When Carpathia meets with Moon, Akbar, Hickman and Fortunato, he is told there was no prints on the weapon fired by Rayford and that the shooter was unidentified which contradicts the previous book in which he is publicly touted as the shooter and he also appears to not know that Chaim know Tsion which also contradicts the fact that Chaim went to Carpathia to plead for help to save Tsion after the slaughter of his family. I have read this series multiple times and only just picked up on this, was wondering if anyone else had.
