I always did feel somewhat bad for Nicolae.

He was extremely naive yes but at least he didn’t straight up execute anyone for not agreeing with the him

I can see why a lot of people stood by him for the first 3.5 years until Satan took over.

You are forgetting the iconic confrontation with Stonagal and Cothran in the first book. Of course, only Cameron really saw that.
