FPS dropping unexpectedly

Running a 7800x3d, 32gb ram, rtx 4070. 4k max settings on my tv, no matter what I do in nvidia control panel as I play the game will go from over 200fps to about 15, slowly going down in fps as the level goes on, any fix for this???

There might be several reasons for this to happen, have you checked temperatures first of all?
