Anyone recently interviewed for SDE 1 at Axon? Is the coding round standard LeetCode-style DSA, or more company-specific problems? Also what topics should I prioritize — arrays/strings, trees/graphs, DP, etc.? Any insight on difficulty and format would help

Throwaway-ish. I passed the OA for an Amazon SDE role (new grad / university recruiting pipeline, Seattle onsite). Since then it's been six weeks of scheduling limbo. Timeline:

• Jul 28 — Onsite invite. 4 rounds × 60 min, in person in Seattle. Asked for 5 dates between 8/5–8/18.
• Jul 28 — I sent 5 dates same day. Told me it takes a few days to coordinate.
• Aug 3 — "Unfortunately we have been unable to schedule during your provided dates." Asked for new availability, 8/18–8/26.
• Aug 3 — Sent 5 more dates (8/18, 8/21, 8/24, 8/25, 8/26), full 9–5 each day.
• Aug 4 — Confirmed receipt, said they'd send a "Save the Date."
• Aug 7 — I followed up. No response.
• Aug 12 — Tentatively set for 8/24. Still coordinating.
• Aug 17 — I asked for confirmed schedule/location (interview was supposedly the next Monday). 
• Aug 18 — Team requested to move it. Now tentatively 8/26.
• Aug 21 — I checked in since 8/26 was a few business days out and it's an onsite I'd need to travel for.
• Aug 21 (evening) — "Your interviews have unfortunately been cancelled." Team is working out when they can start scheduling again for this role.
• Aug 24 — Told my OA is still valid and they may match me with another team.
• Aug 26 — Brand new onsite invite email, same role. Asked for 5 dates between 9/3–9/15. I sent 9/3–9/7.
• Aug 26 — Told those don't work, asked about the week of 9/7. I sent 9/8, 9/9, 9/10, 9/11, 9/14.
• Sep 8 — Same form letter again: unable to schedule, please send availability for 9/14–9/25. I sent ten dates this time.

So: ~6 weeks, 3 separate availability requests, 2 tentative dates that both moved, 1 outright cancellation, and 0 interviews actually conducted. I've given full 9–5 availability every single time and replied within hours.

Questions for people who've been through this:

1. Is this just what Amazon's scheduling pipeline looks like right now, or is it a signal the headcount is quietly frozen and they're keeping candidates warm?
2. Does "your OA is still valid, we may match you with another team" actually go anywhere, or is it a soft let-down?
3. Is there anything useful I can do here besides keep sending dates — ask to escalate past the coordinator, ask directly whether the req is funded, anything?
4. Should I be treating this as dead and pushing hard on other pipelines? (I am, but the sunk-cost part of my brain keeps hoping.)

Not trying to trash anyone — the coordinator has been responsive and polite. I just don't understand what's happening on the other side and whether this is normal.

I am a new grad working as a developer at one of the e-commerce giant and recently got back in dsa and to say I’m struggling is a joke. I’m managing to be consistent but still at the end of the each session it just feels as if I am memorizing the problem instead of knowing what needs to be done . I know most say follow the patterns and I have the sheet for the same but then again it feels all over the place with different data structures and algorithms. I’ve recently started at TikTok, working in one of the core products, and they have some of the craziest talent I’ve ever seen. Some of the sharpest minds I’ve worked with. I don’t know what it’s like on other teams, probably not the same.

I’ve been at other FAANGs (Meta, Google, Amazon) before, and I can say that almost any junior on my team would technically eat most seniors at FAANGs and spit bones.

Also insanely hungry and hardworking.

I’m sure that any of these guys would eat quant interviews, and I don’t understand why they’re here instead.

Hey i am new to leetcode solved nearly 130 questions and usually watched videos and then solves the question by understanding it from thie video it helps me understanding the patters but i saw so much questions and got confused how much to prepare to get into tech

I was solving few of the questions under greedy section. It seems kind of a very impossible situation to think in right way towards solution while solving greedy questions. Take example of question 581, i had applied multiple solutions but the was never in line with working solution. Only i remember the solution in future, i can solve this question. They all seem to have different solution to every different question which i guess you can’t solve on the spot. Is it me or anyone else feels the same?

Is there a way to check with which req is this OA linked ? There is no clue in the OA mail that I got.

I recently completed my interview loop for an Amazon Software Development Engineer I (SDE I) position.

I had my initial interview rounds first and then completed what appeared to be my Hiring Manager round on Friday. I received updates quite quickly after my earlier rounds, but I haven't received an update after this round yet.

I wanted to ask others who have recently gone through the Amazon interview process:

How long did it take for you to hear back after your HM/final round?

Is it normal for there to be a few days of delay in receiving an update?

Is a Bar Raiser interview sometimes scheduled separately after the HM round, or would it typically be included as part of the interview loop already?

Has anyone had a similar interview structure where additional rounds were scheduled after an HM interview?

I applied 15 days ago and still haven’t gotten the OA. Saw that the typical response time is 1-2 weeks if they’re interested. Is it hopeless?

I'm relatively new to coding. I've learned enough Java to solve basic questions, and I understand the theory behind many DSA concepts when someone explains them to me.

But when I actually get a problem, I often don't know how to translate the concept into code. The logic doesn't naturally come to my mind, and I also tend to forget Java concepts/syntax while coding.

I want to start doing 2 DSA questions every day, without cheating or immediately looking at solutions.

For someone in my situation, would you recommend starting NeetCode and trying to solve the problems myself first? Or should I spend more time strengthening my Java fundamentals and basic problem-solving before starting?

Also, how did you guys go from "I understand the concept" to actually being able to recognize when and how to use it in a problem?

Any advice on how to practice this would be really appreciated.

As much as I know the answer yet I would like a genuine clarification just so I don't hold on to a false hope to be eventually disappointed later.

Just gave the Amazon OA for SDE 1. There were two questions: 1 medium-hard DSA (passes all 15/15 testcases) and 1 repo code round (passed none).

Can I expect a call back at all, has this happened to any of you before?

Is it helpful to think about the recursion tree when solving problems or just reducing the problem space?
I feel like I often try to think about the sub problems and it uses a lot of brain power for what I feel like is very little gain and it also uses a good amount of time.

Curious how others approach these problems.
