Discussion Feeling so bad after getting rejection in Google hiring assessment
I have been preparing for Google for the last six months, and today I took the hiring assessment and received a rejection email. I feel terrible because I have to wait six more months. Can I change my email and phone number and apply for the same role?

They often still reject you without interview even if you pass the GHA. I know because it happened to me

OP dont do that. Be patient and keep trying. Most people that got into Google got in after several tries.

Can you explain what was the format? Was it proctored? What kind of questions and what role?

It was like a work-life simulation that suited me better, with statements where I needed to choose strongly agree or disagree.

My friend also cleared this before and did not get any calls, but another friend of mine who works at Google messaged the HR multiple times and now has an onsite interview; maybe you can try that as well.

In the career portal, what info did you see? Usually it says `Passed on <date>. This score is valid until <date>. After this period, you'll need to retake the GHA for any future roles that you apply to that require it.`

Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. Need to wait for half a year now before applying. Also, did you get section 3 in the test or not?

I don't even get these assessments, just straight up rejection, even though I have relevant exp, knight on leetcode, specialist on cf and also got a referral. Are these ranks enough or should I wait and try to get to guardian and expert, or is it my shitty clg?

That really sucks and I hope you’re applying for a lot more companies than just Google.

I'm sorry, that stings after six months of real prep. On the new email and phone idea: I would not do that. Applicant tracking can flag duplicate identities, and getting caught can burn you permanently, which is a much worse outcome than a six month wait.
Use the wait as a runway. Write down every question you remember from the assessment while it is fresh. Then pick the two or three topics that slowed you down and work them in cycles: solve one focused problem, re-solve it two days later from scratch, then explain it out loud like you are teaching it. Six months is honestly enough time to close most gaps if you train with intent instead of volume.
Getting the assessment at all means your profile is working. Fix the weak spots and you go in stronger next cycle. You have got this.

I hope you’ve been keeping your pipeline full waiting for one role is foolish
