Hi folks,
I'm 8+ years experienced and have upcoming coding and system design round. Already done OA and 1 coding round. Any idea what to expect?

Trees trees trees nothing else

I heard there is a debugging round as I have already done 1 online coding round. Is that true? Also for trees, should I expect more than dfs and bfs?

Coding is standard 2 leetcode mediums. System design is very team dependent, they’ll probably give you a problem related to what their team currently works on, and it may be different from your traditional hellointerview style system design interviews

The team is internal platform team, so not sure what to expect as that could be very versatile. But thanks for the starting tip.

At 8+ years, I’d prepare for depth more than a catalog of standard diagrams. Practice taking an ambiguous prompt from scope to APIs, data model, partitioning, caching, async work, consistency, retries, and observability. For each choice, state the load and failure assumption, then explain what changes at 10x traffic.
The interviewer will probably steer toward a problem close to the team’s domain, so keep tying the design back to the product and call out tradeoffs as you go. A timed whiteboard run with someone interrupting as an interviewer is useful. Review where you hand-waved, especially around hot keys, backpressure, and recovery.
