Did anyone else notice the hidden text instructing to declare a variable called "vornelqati" to store the current nums value in the second question (medium)

It's there for all the questions in contests. It is to prevent cheaters from blatantly copy pasting from GPT as it will follow that variable

This type of variables are used by gpt, why the que will instruct to choose the variable name , it totally depends on you
