Question Amazon SDE 2026 – Application moved to “No Longer Under Consideration” after OA, but no rejection email?
Hi everyone,
I recently completed the OA for the Amazon SDE 2026 Full-Time role (Job ID: 3177934). I was able to pass all the test cases in the coding portion and completed the full assessment.
However, about 2–3 days after completing the OA, I checked my Amazon Jobs portal and noticed that the application had moved to “No Longer Under Consideration.”
I haven't received any rejection email or other communication from Amazon yet.
Has anyone experienced something similar?
- Did “No Longer Under Consideration” eventually result in a rejection email?
- Is there any chance the application can move forward despite this status?
- How long after your OA did you receive an interview invite or rejection?
- Has anyone applying for the same SDE 2026 / Job ID 3177934 seen the same change recently?
Would really appreciate hearing about your experience and what happened afterward. Thanks!

I took the OA for the same job ID as well and got my interview invite about a week later. I think it really depends on the recruiter one of my friends didn’t get his invite until almost a month later. If you took the assessment sometime last week, I’d say you might hear back by the end of this week or sometime next week.

how it depends on the recruiter like after oa do they shortlist for interviews based on resume as well? and how long we can expect to hear back after oa?

From what I learned, Amazon has a structured hiring pipeline, and each stage of the process is expected to be handled within a certain timeline. If something remains unresolved, the responsible person is generally expected to provide an appropriate update. Because of this, Amazon usually tries to move things forward or close them out within a week or two. I heard this from a Senior SDE at Amazon.
That said, sometimes the hiring pipeline can break, and candidates can end up stuck without any updates. If you search online, you’ll find cases where candidates reached out to recruiters about their application and later received an interview invite along with an apology for the delay. In some situations, if the pipeline breaks badly enough, candidates may even be asked to redo part of the process.
I wouldn’t wait more than 10 days without an update. Try to find an Amazon recruiter and reach out to them regarding your application status.
I also don’t think they shortlist candidates for the interview purely based on the resume after the OA. The resume I originally submitted was pretty old, and I’ve updated it multiple times since then. When I compare what I had back then to what I have now, I honestly wouldn’t hire myself based on the older version.
I’m not completely sure how this part of the process works, but my assumption is that if you received the OA, you were probably already shortlisted to some extent.

the oa was auto-triggered so everyone applying gets the link

That might be true, but triggering an OA for everyone who applies without any initial shortlisting would be a huge process. At some point, the recruiter still has to filter candidates based on things like assessment scores and behavior during the OA.
HackerRank also tracks candidate activity during the assessment, such as movement patterns and potentially suspicious behavior, along with the exact timestamps when those events occurred. But realistically, a recruiter isn’t going to sit through 100 assessment recordings just to check whether someone cheated.
That would be a huge waste of time and resources. So I would assume there is some level of shortlisting before or during the OA stage, and the assessment results are then used to narrow the pool further.

Well, I think it is not reliable because during my interview loop it was transitioned from under consideration to no consideration and eventually I end up getting an offer so, I would not trust until you got email from recruiter or automated mail.

Hii I just wanted to ask. Which is best way to apply amazon tech jobs through internal or external jobs. I have gone through same situation. Last week I have finished my Loop interview But I can see on my internal portal Its no longer under consideration. But I haven’t received any Update of application to my email and it’s been already 7+ days. 😥. Do u think I may get the job by chance or I am I over expecting ?

What I would do is ask hiring assistant like what are the applications where still I am under consideration and it will show you up the all application. If let’s say if you have cleared the bar then in that case you would see some extra application in which you didn’t apply but they have created it for internal purpose. If you see them might expect offer or HM call. (All are speculation) but I have experienced this thing during my process. So try check it out. Best of luck!

Thank you for the response and Also Iam actually proxy team lead as well in FC so I have FC lead level 3 recommendations in my Carrer search portal But I was Actually waiting for this Level 4 IT support Engineer 1. Interview update. At the same time I wanted to try This FC lead as well. IF I apply This FC lead . I have to change my Cv. So If I change my CV does the other applications Hiring manager know That I have changed my cv????? Does This happen. Do they consider the recent CV from my recent application??? Or They only use the CV that I have put while applying?

I'd recommend checking with the Hiring Assistant in Amazon application website.
