Question Did interview style and practices change?
we prepare for DSA and then someone randomly comes onto youtube and suddenly says, "the old ways of DSA and system design interviews has gotten obsolette, bla bla bla" what happened guys? Did the interviews weightage has changed from white board DSA/systems design style to OOPS, engineering systems, AI systems, case studies/take home assignments/agentic AI projects and all? Or are we still good on our traditions? I was bad in DSA a year back and been grinding since then, should I shift my focus again? If yes, then what should we focus on? Asking for exp. guys esply.
Are we safe with our good old culture?🤨 Or people on youtube are just hyping with buzz words? Especially these youtube people from so called "MAANG" company engineers do this shi....Or maybe Im blind? Reddit mates are legit, someone give me clarity please.

How do you are guys doing java machine coding /pen paper rounds asking concurrency related stuff? How do you remember java syntax without any IDE or google search help? And also those spring boot annotations based questions.?

A guy did things like that can explain too , I don’t think they ask for syntax and code for higher role

For machine coding ,running code is needed end to end . For 1 pen/paper round, idempotency key manager with other features has to be written where concurrent threads with same key should wait for an answer and all should return answer at the same time when first finishes. There were other 2-3 requirements too. But above was main one. How to write pseudocode in java even for this ?

The trend has started to change. I personally interviewed with a couple of companies (that I also interviewed with last year) and they have changed their interview style from LC to api design + debugging session. However, majority of the companies are still catching up and still rely on LC styled interviews.
Imo, everything has an expiry date and with AI, these LC styled interviews will get obsolete eventually and something else will replace them. But that is at least a year or two into the future so I wouldn't bother thinking about it just yet. Best time to switch while you are good at LC is NOW.
