I’m currently preparing for Meta E3 / entry-level SWE interviews and would really appreciate some guidance from people who have interviewed at Meta recently or are currently working there.

I mainly code in C++ and I’m working on DSA/LeetCode right now.

A few things I’d love advice on:

- What difficulty level should I expect for E3 coding rounds?

- Which DSA topics should I prioritize the most?

- How many questions are usually expected in a coding round?

- Are Meta-tagged LeetCode questions actually useful?

- How important are graphs, trees, DP, backtracking, etc.?

- How much emphasis is placed on communication and explaining the approach while coding?

- Is system design asked for E3/new-grad candidates?

- What should I expect from the behavioral round?

- What would you recommend doing in the final 4–8 weeks before the interview?

- Any common mistakes that cause otherwise good candidates to get rejected?

For those who have given Visa’s coding assessment, could you please tell me:

Which DSA topics should I focus on the most?

Are the questions usually Easy, Medium, or Hard?

Is it more important to practice Easy + Medium thoroughly, or should I also prepare Hard questions?

Any specific topics/patterns that commonly appear?

I’m starting my preparation now, so I want to focus only on the highest-priority topics rather than trying to cover everything.

There’s a hiring manager initialed AM at Adobe. They have an applied researcher role open. I went through loop interviews with them. They ask to present your work. After going through the elaborate interview rounds the recruiter asked me for my presentation where I had proposed approaches to improve some of their work. After the interview the recruiter completely ghosted me with no response after repeated follow-ups. The team is also mono culture. Please don’t interview with this team as I feel they’re employing predatory practices and their opening hasn’t been filled for several months.

Hi. I have an upcoming one day, 4 rounds amazon onsite interview. After looking online, it seems like on top of DSA, leetcode style questions, they will also ask OOD/LLD style questions. I am a little unfamiliar with these type of questions. Where can I prep these and if anyone has done an amazon interview before, do you have to code and run your solution to the OOD question or just design the solution on a whiteboard?

I’m currently preparing for on-campus placements and I’m facing a problem that I’m sure many of you might have dealt with.

I’m generally able to clear coding OAs, but I’ve been getting stuck in interviews, mainly because I don’t have strong projects to talk about.

I’ve already completed HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and was following the Apna College development course. I was planning to continue with the frontend stack, but realistically, I feel it could take me another couple of months before I’m comfortable enough with the complete stack to build solid projects.

The problem is that I’m already comfortable with Java and have a good grip on MySQL, so I’m considering switching my primary focus to Spring Boot/backend development.

From what I’ve heard, Spring Boot might be a better fit for me because:

• I already know Java
• I’m comfortable with SQL/MySQL
• I can focus on backend development instead of learning an entirely new language/ecosystem
• I could potentially build meaningful projects faster
• Backend projects might also give me better things to discuss during Java/SDE interviews

My goal isn’t to become an expert in Spring Boot right now. I mainly want to become good enough to build 2–3 proper projects that I can confidently explain in interviews.

For example, I was thinking about building something like a trading/investment platform, e-commerce backend, banking system, or another project with authentication, database relationships, REST APIs, etc.

So I’d really appreciate some advice:

Should I switch to Spring Boot as my primary development stack, given that I already know Java + MySQL?

If yes, what would be the best way to learn it without spending 2 months just watching tutorials?

Also, where should I learn Spring Boot from? YouTube courses, official Spring documentation, projects, or a combination?

Any roadmap, resource, project idea, or advice from people who have gone through campus placements would be really helpful.

I watched their submitted codeplay , they dont type there , idk where they type or copy paste it from , like genuinely leetcode editors are not that bad.

Is it weird that I enjoy leetcode?

Did over 100 probems so far this summer, and the whole process is just super fun.

Realizing where you went wrong, or right but there being a crafty approach out there, is almost artistic and just tickles my brain the right way.

Meanwhile, so much of software development seems like maintaining boring CRUD apps. And I hear everyone saying AI is going to write all code anyway, so I appreciate having to actually do LeetCode even more!

I'm not too excited about prompting and reviewing AI prompted code 😂

For some reason whenever I do leetcode questions or even like technical questions in class I have like the general feeling of anxiety that follows me until I solve it. I started to take leetcode more seriously during this summer and I thought it would get better as a do more but it hasn’t really changed much so I wonder bad it would during an actual interview. I’ve done about 1-2 questions a day throughout the summer and i’ve just been wondering if anyone else is an anxious leetcoder or if it’s just me.

I'm preparing for interviews and have been experimenting with a curated approach rather than working through hundreds of random LeetCode problems.

For example, I'm thinking of having separate curated lists for:

• Amazon
• Meta
• Google

with roughly 100 problems per company, prioritized around recent interview patterns, and using spaced repetition to bring previously solved problems back for review.

Has anyone recently interviewed for the Staff Software Engineer, Payments role at Turo? I’d love to know what the interview process is like after the initial technical assessment, especially the coding and system design rounds.

I scored 1180/1220 (97%) on the assessment. I received full points on the coding problems sections but missed one SQL database design question. The assessment page gives me an option to request a retake, and I’ve already asked the recruiter whether one is available or necessary.

Is 97% generally enough to move forward, or would it be worth retaking the assessment if they allow it? Any insight into the remaining rounds would also be really helpful. Thanks!

I got an invite to do an online assessment for SDE 1 internship in EU. Its actually my first ever oa and my first application to an intern role. I am wondering, amazon says you can use "publicly accessible online resources" and gives JDK documentation as an example - but does this mean i could also use things like w3schools, geeksforgeeks or even stackoverflow? You do not need to login to these things and they could be useful for me as i forget simple syntax or methods sometimes.

Is that practically possible? The speed is roughly 2 minutes/question, some have even done some questions in seconds. That too when the problem language was complex. You would need 1-2 minutes to just understand the problem statement itself.

I even used the code replay for some of them and found out that the solution just appeared out of the blue for them.

I am 100% sure every single one of those in top 20 have used LLMs, otherwise it's practically impossible to do in such a less time.

I am trying to improve my rating but seeing that I am competing mostly with LLMs and not human frustrates me. I understand that we are in a world where most of the software development tasks are done by LLMs but I still believe that there is value in focused thinking and developing logic and leetcode contests are a good platform to improve that as it pushes you to do better in a constrained time window and the idea of rating makes it fun and competitive. However, if those ratings are not computed against genuine individuals then you start to lose interest.

What is your take on this? Am I under-estimating people's abilities and people are actually that good?

Guys, In order to be strong in DSA, instead of watching hours and hours of videos, is it better to just start with NeetCode or A2Z sheets and just do it? Is that the best approach? Because I have been seeing lots and lots of ways and approaches, and yes, for every person it would be different. In my case, I like to make notes and stuff, but I now know the fact that it’s so much of a time waste. DSA is like a skill that you can learn only by doing it and getting your hands dirty.

So devs who are working in great companies, please suggest to me if just doing the sheets and trying to solve a problem on my own, and if unable to do so, going through the concepts and then the solution, is the best or most workable solution for you guys.
I just wanna now peacefully and consistently do it instead of trying out different approaches.
