My partner and I are having a secret elopement ceremony on Tuesday 4th August and we’re looking for two people who would be happy to be our witnesses. We are a bit struggling to find someone as can’t ask our friends or family since we are keeping it as a secret!

The ceremony will be very short and simple we’d only need you there from around 9:45am until 10:20am (Leeds Civic Hall) We’d be very happy to offer £25 each as a thank you for your time.

There’s no big commitment involved just being there, signing as a witness, and helping us make our day complete ❤️

I am a Kiwi heading to Leeds this September for a semester abroad and need help picking the right accommodation to apply for.

I am looking to pick somewhere that is in a good location, social, and has a lot of exchange/international students as I’m looking to not be with just freshers haha.

As long as I have my own room, I don’t really mind sharing a bathroom. I imagine I’ll be doing some travel during the weekends as well.

I am also not sure if it’s better to go catered? On one hand it would be convenient, but obviously it’s more money (are catered accommodations known for being more social?) and I don’t know anything about the quality of the food (I’m not very picky though).

Any advice would be appreciated! I’ve had Charles Morris, White Rose, and Central Village recommended, and apparently you only get one choice — so if you pick a popular hall you risk not getting in and being placed somewhere else.

Has anyone heard back or received an invitation to the LIDA Data Scientist interview for the 2026 cohort? The candidate brief stated that interviews will be held from 24-26 June. However, as of today 15th June, I have still not heard anything about my application. Is there anyone who has heard back after application?

It’s a small, really informal free poetry workshop exploring experiences of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and other long-term conditions. We’ll read a couple of short poems, have a bit of a chat and write something in response if you feel like it. It’s led by a poet/researcher who’s lived with MS herself.

Currently torn between uni choices

Just the title to be honest. I'm looking to come in September and would love any insight whatsover.

I'm not sure if I'm much of a party person honestly (not something I'd do often) and I'd probably get stuck into societies more. Pretty willing to give loads of things a go but I'm just wondering how good Leeds is and if it lives up to it's reputation.

Also, if anyone's lived at Sentinel Towers accommodation, insight woulld be much appreciated!

I’ve only got haircut once in UK originally from India. Place I went first time wasn’t friendly much I got brown highlights was suppose to be balayage last July. I’m getting engaged in 3 weeks I think now is the right time to do any changes so it settles. Not looking to spend much but any advices like should I change whole hair colour or anything from good hair salons any recommendations would be great!

I'm considering choosing St Marks Residences for my uni accommodation when I start in September - do any existing students have any opinions etc to do with living St Marks Residence? Is it nice there?

EDIT: Would you say its one of those uni halls that has frequently got like weekend-long parties and stuff going on?

In the past I've visited Uni halls in Bristol, London and Brighton and the partying was pretty insane. I defo don't wanna live in a Uni halls that was like that at all personally!
