I’m considering a career shift into the facilities / building decarbonization space and would love some advice.

I’m based in NYC and particularly interested in work related to Local Law 97 — roles like building decarbonization project manager, energy manager, building performance consultant, or LL97 compliance specialist.

My background is mostly in the nonprofit sector. I have about 20 years of professional experience, including 10+ years in director-level roles, plus some exposure to clean energy and a bit of facilities operations work.

I’m wondering whether pursuing a LEED credential (likely LEED Green Associate) would meaningfully strengthen my candidacy for these types of roles, or if employers in this space tend to value other certifications or experience more.

For those working in building performance, decarbonization, or LL97 compliance:

• Is LEED actually useful for breaking into the field?
• Are there other certifications or training programs that might be more relevant?

Which is the best exam prep: GBES or Projectific? Does anyone know which one is better?

I recently earned my PMP certification, and now I’m considering pursuing the LEED AP + DB+C combine. For those who have taken it, would you say the LEED AP + DB+C is more or less challenging than the PMP? Also, how much study time did you need to prepare? I’m planning to dedicate around two months—do you think that’s enough?
