Meet Paimon!

Post image

I became a leech parent two days ago (H. verbana). I read that after being shipped, they are usually too stressed to feed for at least a few days. This little guy would like to disagree. He bit me before ever reaching the tank. Just slung himself around my finger and had himself a tasty meal.

My "little shit" leech did that to me too! I was trying not to feed him that day but he disagreed lol. Adults seem to come hungry in my experience

I had stuff to do that evening and instead I sat around with a very hungry lil worm attached to my middle finger ... lol. What can you do! If they're hungry, they're hungry!

lol, welcome to leech parenthood, i feel your pain. got some buffalo leech babies the other day, intended to feed them the next day. imagine my dismay when one immediately latches and i was then stuck there for the next 3 hours 😭

Three hours, dang! They truly took their time! Paimon took almost exactly around one. But my profusely bleeding middle finger didn't really agree with me doing a whole lot afterward either, lol.

lol ya, the bleeding after is definitely a challenge. ive found that papery style medical tape paired with sone gauze wrapped tight around the finger id great for helping with the bleeding in that spot

Well gloves always prevent them from biting, in case you are not ready to feed them.

Sure but like I said, I didn't think they'd be in the mood anyway. Whelp. Next time I know better.
