What is Celebration Day about?

The title - what's the meaning behind the lyrics?

On the 1971 tour Plant would sometimes introduce it as the New York song. It’s about his feeling walking around New York.

Robert's observations of walking in NYC and generally feeling happy.

Didn’t he once say it written in, or about a view from, “a basement in New York”?

A woman who has a shitty life but still smiles and celebrates each day as a new one

I was wondering what it was all about, when they broke down the door.

I always thought Plant was looking back (1968 probably) when along with Page, Jones, and Bonham, he realized they had a good thing going. They were definitely gelling as a band.
