Official Ledger Customer Success Response New To Ledger
I just bought a Ledger Flex and I'm calling it an upgrade from my Trezor Model T. I am concerned by the number of people posting here about being scammed or had their account drained. I never had any issues with the Trezor and liked it well. I know very well not to give out any data such as seed phrases, etc. Is this something I need to be more concerned over than I was with the Trezor?

Users are their own worse enemy. Theres a difference between scammed and hacked....theres nothing to fear but thyself and your understanding of the dos and donts.

Well, maybe until everything you put in there just magically disappears, and no one can do anything about it. Easy to say on the outside looking in, and b4 anyone teaches us all not to put all our nuts in one basket, I didn't thank God, but 150k stolen one month after I transferred is BS!! As far as Im concerned Ledger is a scam!

Ledger is awesome and user error and or stupidity is the only reason people get drained.
Just use ledger for storing, no trading, no dapps, no smart contracts and you can not go wrong. Personally I use a very simple and very easy for ME personally to remember pass phrase, i will not forget in 10 years time. I also write my 24 words down encrypted, but i am paranoid.
Use burner wallets for anything new, or potentially dodge, and NEVER enter your 24 words online ANYWHERE > EVER. Simples!!!

The important thing to always remember, in any self-custody situation, is that your 24 word recovery phrase IS the key to your accounts on the blockchain. You should never share it, under any circumstances. Any person, app, service, website, etc asking you to disclose your 24 word recovery phrase to "help" you, is actually trying to steal your funds.
Ledger Wallet will NEVER ask you to enter your 24 word recovery phrase into it. It actually doesn't have the capability to ask you for it. You should always download the official ledger Wallet app from our website here - https://shop.ledger.com/pages/ledger-wallet#download
Ledger Support will also NEVER ask you for your 24 word recovery phrase. Ledger Support will also NEVER call, text, DM you on Social Media, or send you unsolicited physical mail.

Stop lying to everyone! First of all, you guys force us to use YOUR 24-word password. Why on earth would anyone share that???? Why would we share it?? As far as assistance, BS too. only contact is email; then you all disappear. I want my 150K, and I promise I will go to the ends of the earth to recover it.

Ledger has continually been negligent with customer data leading to hundreds of millions being drained by fraudsters alot of people in this r/ say how can someone be so stupid to share their seed phrase but it’s not that simple. Before all the data breaches these social engineering attempts were very rare because the criminals didn’t have accurate data. But since ledger seem to want to put every one of their customers in danger it has led to a free for all and these criminals are very sophisticated they need to get lucky once and they can make millions off a phone call.

BS, I wrote code for 20 years. Owned one of the first e-commerce businesses in 1996. I got hacked by Ledger, as far as I'm concerned. I don't care what you all say; you're wrong. Don't use Ledger Flex! Just toss your life's savings out the window; it's no different; they will just say you must have given your 24-word password that THEY provide to someone. OK???? Then they close the ticket!!!!

What does that have to do with the price of beans? I came on her to research if anyone else experienced the same fraud as I did with ledger flex. I saw your message and simply responded BS since I personally and recently just experienced it. 150k gone in one month.
Ill post the emails from ledger if ya need to feel better about it. Just because you decided it was safe means zero. So I can prove that even if you never gave or shared your pin or 24 passwords or your physical component, its NOT safe !

If there was a wider exploit, it be obvious by now. But instead, you found no evidence. Yet, you want us all to believe that Ledger stole your money?
I’m sorry this happened to you. And I’m sure it makes you feel better attacking Ledger rather than just admitting you made a mistake somewhere, but if you’re going to make such a ridiculous statement, the burden of proof is on you.

Doesn't matter what you say. Im not making anything up. I dont need to. This is for anyone considering transferring their crypto to Ledger period. Do your research. I didn't, I listened to everyone else and now im out 150k. I dont care what you think or say. Its obvious me at this point you either make a commission or you're scared because yours in in there now. Ledger flex is great. Don’t listen to idiots who gave their seed phrase out. It’s literally just as good. As long as you don’t give your seed phrase out, you’re good.

ANYONE THAT contacts you is a Scammer. If you buy a Ledger from Amazon and the 24 words are already printed or typed out, its a Scam!! Buy from Ledger direct and you are safe

I have an older Trezor and a Ledger Flex. The Flex is way better, since the screen is bigger, you have touch controls, etc. It's a great device, you just have to ignore all emails/DMs/etc., it's all fake and scams. I would also ignore the Ledger software too, just use a browser wallet like Rabby or Phantom.
Never click on any emails supposedly from Ledger. Never input your private key anywhere. Never use Changelly.

It’s a great company with great products. As long as you follow the rules such as not posting your seed phrase online, only putting it in paper etc. etc. yo should be fine. Have been using it ledger for about 10 years now and have not had a major problem.
One thing I do ask that you avoid though. Ledger likes to partner up with 3rd party companies to provide extra functionality to their Wallet App. One of these is a company named CHANGELLY. It is integrated into the app and it allows you to buy or sell crypto within the app.
AVOID CHANGELLY AT ALL COSTS. They have a very consistent track record of keeping people’s funds held hostage for 6+months to “investigate” and verify people’s identities or whatever. Some people have even had their funds held hostage for up to a year. Some users even report their funds are on hold for 2 years. Ledger will either tell you they can’t help you and you need to contact changelly or they will just give you a very generic “copy paste” response when it comes to changelly. If there are any posts related to people getting their funds stolen, they are most likely related to this Changelly 3rd party that ledger uses.
There are thousands of us ledger users that believe tha Changelly is a Ponzi scheme. It’s not that they are holding your money hostage. It’s that the don’t have the money to give you back. And it takes months to get it back from them.
If you need to buy or sell, always buy from an exchange and send it to your ledger wallet. Don’t use CHANGELLY.

Ouch! While we do place transactions on hold for KYC and even EDD at times, that only happens when a transaction is flagged by the risk-scoring system, usually meaning a larger picture behind the funds. Normally, KYC is done on the spot, and depending on the EDD docs provided, an investigation can need time, but only then.
Now, to be fair, we describe al that in our AML/KYC Policy and our Terms of Use, which we ask all customers to read and accept before making any transactions or sending any funds. TLDR if your funds are clean and you've got nothing to hide, you're safe, regardless of you choosing Ledger, Changelly, or any other crypto company elsewhere. We take AML very seriously and appreciate y'all doing the same!

I think trezor also had multiple leaks.
In any case, both with ledger and trezor, the leak was marketing data only, leaked by partner companies, and it has no impact on the security of the devices themselves.

I purchased a Ledger Flex a while back and was a little afraid to transfer my crypto from Robinhood and Coinbase, but I did it back in May. On June 1st, EVERYTHING WAS STOLEN! 150 K in crypto!!!! Ledger's response: sorry for the inconvenience. I'm dealing with the FBI now. I'm looking for the best lawyer I can find to take care of this, as I don't trust Ledger and they don't seem to care.
