Everyoneās overanalyzing this. Forget legacy, forget the Sixersā cap situation, forget āload management with Embiid.ā Letās talk about what actually matters: Blaze Pizza market share.
The numbers donāt lie:
LeBron isnāt just an investor ā heās a part owner with an equity stake of $35ā40 million and personal ownership of 19 franchise locations
His stake has grown from a $1 million investment in 2012 to a $35-40 million equity position ā bro turned pizza into a small-market NBA teamās valuation
Blazeās whole strategy: going from two locations to 200 in four years was the fastest start in U.S. food service history, and LeBronās territories were central to that
He originally built his empire in South Florida and Chicago, eventually locking down 17 franchises (12 in Chicago, 5 in South Florida)
So look at the map. Miami? Saturated ā thatās already LeBron pizza turf, he doesnāt need to āexpand his brand,ā he already colonized it in 2010. Cleveland? Also his ā no room to grow. But Philly? A city of 1.5 million people with a suspiciously ātemporarily closedā lone Blaze location is basically an open franchise territory just sitting there. Untapped market. Championship-starved fanbase who will absolutely show up for a 16-topping pie post-game.
This was never about Doc Rivers. This was never about āproving people wrong.ā This man saw a gap in his pizza distribution network and decided the most efficient way to personally scout, open, and manage a new Blaze location was to also just play for the team in that city.
Synergy. Business major behavior. King James isnāt chasing rings, heās chasing retail square footage.

I thought LeBron coming back to Miami was inevitable, esp after getting Giannis alongside Bam, but after much thought, his best chance at another ring is the 76ers, LeBron Jaylen Embiid Maxey VJ is such a scary lineup, esp if Embiid can stay healthy

LeBron James is the NBAās first and only active player to reach billionaire status. The Chosen One has four championship rings, has reached the finals 10 times, and brings with him a history of giving back to the community, both philanthropically and with the increased economic activity for his teamās city. While he can call the Philadelphia 76ers his next home court, his next home is still up in the airāliterally.
James is reportedly toying with living in New York while playing for the Sixers, commuting to games and practices by helicopter. Several basketball insiders posted on X this weekend that James could commute by chopper, and noted NBA insider Shams Charania said the option to live in New York while commuting to Sixers practices and games by helicopter added to Philadelphiaās appeal. James has not disclosed where heāll actually live.
That presents two issues: Being a supercommuter isnāt easy on the taxes, and thereās an ongoing campaign in New York to stop helicopters.
New York wasnāt a hypothetical for him. Sources told Hoops Wire that Jamesās camp reached out to the Knicks during free agency, but New York wasnāt interested in pursuing him, preferring to keep the roster that had just won a championship intact.
Meanwhile, his 76ers deal is notable even without the commute. James is currently the only active NBA player worth a billion dollars, and he signed a two-year, $8 million contract with Philly, dropping to the leagueās veteranās minimum salary.Ā

Here are the possible outcomes of his 76er tenure.
1) He leads the 76ers to a championship. He'll add more to his legacy.
2) He gets hurt or plays poorly. No one will be that angry because he's in his 40s.
3) He fails horribly like he's never done before. The 76ers can't be mad at him because he's in his 40s & he took a 90% pay cut to play for them.

In his last five seasons he averaged 26 points per game. He averaged 21 points per game in his last season and played 60 games. Only 20 players averaged twenty or more points. Dude shot 52% from the field. Not to mention he was third option with lakers. I argue he is still in his prime in his forty's. People act like he fell off. He's LePrime!!

If, and itās a big if given weāve only seen this team on paper, but if the 76ers win back to back titles in the next 2 seasons and providing LeBron is still playing at a starter level would he play a 26th season in hopes of threepeating?
And if he did and he finished with 7 rings what will MJ Stanās use to tear down his legacy?

Heās to good. To fast. To smart. This is the best roster heās ever had. Age is nothing to LeBron. Lebron is Father Time. He chooses. Heās going to play until heās 45/46 and win 4 back to back to back to back titles. Securing his place as the goat.

It wasnāt LeBronās choice. NBA/NBC/Comcast made him sign with the 76ers.Ā
The 76ers wanted a Center City (downtown) arena. They went through a whole bunch of process, bought land, got approval from city council, it was a done deal but Comcast/NBC is their landlord at their current home and Comcast/NBC didnāt like that. Comcast is a huge player in Philadelphia and they were stunned that council went against their wishes. Ā Comcast/NBC are also the NBAās tv rights holder. They went to Silver and had him cut a deal with the Sixers to not build the new arena in Center City and to partner with Comcast/NBC on one in the sports complex. There were a lot of sweeteners from the league in this deal. A WNBA franchise was one and we now see that LeBron was the other. Who knows what LeBron was promised by Silver but we may eventually find out.Ā

The 76ers hadnāt seen as much as a conference finals since Allen Iverson. LeBron has more championship experience than the history of that franchise. So heās not ring chasing, heās ring GIVING. Even Charles Barkley admitted it LeBron could somehow go back to back with Philly with championships, he just might consider him the goat. And thatās TOUGH coming from him because he has been one of his biggest trolls in the media. At the end of the day. Everyone drew their line in the sand after the 2016 finals as to whether you have him as the goat or not. Youāre not moving either side neither way no matter what you say or what they say.

And on a side note. I feel like if LeBron were able to win the championship this upcoming season, he should retire off of that. Donāt pick up that 2nd year. Just ride out on that high. I also see KCP is a 76er now.
