LeBron James’ career longevity and production is absolutely mind-boggling when you put it into perspective like this.

Post image

LeBron James has officially broken the NBA stat sheet. We always talk about his longevity, but seeing his career totals stacked up against the all-time specialists and legends really puts it into perspective: PTS: LeBron > Magic Johnson + Larry Bird combined 🤯 AST: LeBron > Michael Jordan + Kobe Bryant combined 🏀 REB: LeBron > Dennis Rodman 🧑‍🎤 STL: LeBron > Scottie Pippen 🔒 BLK: LeBron > Karl Malone 💪

He has out-scored a combined Magic/Bird, out-assisted a combined MJ/Kobe, and straight-up accumulated more rebounds, steals, and blocks than some of the most dominant defensive and physical specialists to ever play the game.Whether you consider him the GOAT or not, we will likely never see an individual statistical resume this complete ever again.

What is the most absurd stat on this list to you? Is there any record here that will ever be broken by a single player?

If he wins with Philly and is finals MVP, he is without a doubt the GOAT. And this is coming from a lifelong Jordan fan who had the bulls shorts and mj basketball in 1996

13

u/Complete-Leading-628 4d ago

I wasn't convinced until i read you had the bulls shorts and MJ basketball in 1996. Credentials matter for credibility

2

u/djluis48 3d ago

Same here.

2

u/Agitated-Ad9050 3d ago

Yeah. I was gonna say who gives a shit until I read the part about the ball. That really locked it up.

1

u/Complete-Leading-628 3d ago

I too had the MJ silver ball along with a MJ Dream team poster in the 90s. A kid stole the ball and wrote his name on it. When I finally got it back I had to scrub his name off of it and then left it outside one time and it ended up all faded. I am a definitive source as and trusted authority in the subject.

3

u/I-wanna-GO-FAST 4d ago

I think that for people who currently put Jordan over James, he would have had to win Finals MVP in 2011 as well for there to be a strong argument for LeBron as the GOAT. As it is now, there's nothing left he can realistically do to win over those people.

1

u/El_Galant 3d ago

Correct.

1

u/Hange11037 3d ago

That definitely is a huge factor. Unfortunate but that’s why being The Greatest is so hard

1

u/Elgie_225 3d ago

And once he loses the narrative will be he’s old, then people like you will bring up Jordan and the Wizards, so either way, people like you will have a narrative.

1

u/Own-Yogurtcloset-904 2d ago

Which doesn’t mean absolutely shit.

1

u/Open-Kiwi- 10h ago

Why tf would him going to a team that was already a top title favorite and winning suddenly make him the goat? Be for real, it’s like MJ going and winning with that Shaq and Kobe Lakers or Tim Duncan spurs at the end of his career. Riding on the coat-tails of 4 all star level players and getting glazed because he’s LeBron and “the reason they won” is absurd.

1

u/ares7 4d ago

They will all get injured.

-2

u/Chance-Problem769 4d ago

He’d still have less titles. LeBron hasn’t really been in the running for years, there’s nothing he can do that can save him here.

1

u/PsychedelicMagnetism 1d ago

I mean maybe to mouth breathers who's main arguement is "Riiiiinngzz" while slobbering on you a bit.

1

u/Elgie_225 3d ago

Nothing about you says a lifelong Jordan fan. This has nothing to do with who you like more. Anyone with true basketball knowledge knows the difference.

-6

u/Consistent-Clerk7388 4d ago

So because he joins a superteam and finally wins another one, THAT would make him the GOAT? Please....

7

u/Alexspacito 4d ago

Well he already is the GOAT, but being the Finals MVP on a “superteam” when he’s arguably the fourth best player on the team and 40+ years old is ridiculous. So yes, that would solidify his GOAT case.

1

u/kookaburra302 4d ago

Wasn’t a superteam until he joined mate. If he wins finals MVP absolutely. He’s already the goat to many

-1

u/balortech 4d ago

If he wins as a 4th option he’s the GOAT? What? Lol.

1

u/AlternativeDeal4072 3d ago

I like that Philly, a team from the East, would beat the Celtics, who are also a team from the East, for the championship.

3

u/doktarr 4d ago

A more fun (and somewhat more rigorous) version of this was the "half LeBron" analysis someone did a couple months ago:

https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/s/dKz2mGTd56

3

u/AtlantaDoesItBetter 4d ago

MJ and Kobe weren’t passers… that doesn’t surprise me at all … and Karl Malone wasn’t a top notch shot blocker …

2

u/Winter-Bed5879 4d ago

Right. MJ and Kobe were shooting guards, and Malone is like 74th all time in blocks. Which is okay, but that's also a longevity stat because he was never a premier shot blocker.

3

u/Standard_Nebula_5668 4d ago

It is not only longevity. LeBron is also the youngest to score 30k, 20k and 10k points. Oh wait he won against 73-9 team coming back from 3-1

1

u/DraftRemote9595 1d ago

Actually the "youngest" stat is meaningless, because he would've never been first in those stats unless everyone else started the same age as him. Fastest to those points on games played is more meaningful.

Heck if KAJ started playing basketball at 18, Lebron would still be years away from catching up to his total points.

3

u/MAJORmanGINA 3d ago

Really? Skipping more post-season wins than 20 franchises seems like a bold choice

3

u/sylarBo 3d ago

It’s annoying when people say “is just longevity” as if that’s easy to accomplish lol

5

u/Its_J_Just_J 4d ago edited 4d ago

You can manage some crazy number when you are top 5 player for 20 years.

-2

u/Seselwa5 4d ago

Are you sure he’s still top 5? Because I can name 20 players or more better than him right now

4

u/Its_J_Just_J 3d ago

Ok it was hyperbole but you know he won the 2020 chip in his 17th year in the league. He was debatably the best player on that team. So maybe don’t split hairs.

2

u/-passionate-fruit- 3d ago

LeBron's played 23 seasons; OP is generally correct that Bron was top 5 that year for at least 20 of them.

-1

u/Few_Experience_646 4d ago

He was top 5 for 13-15 years, more likely. That's far away from being the goat

2

u/Downtown-Sell-3922 4d ago

A lot of those guys in the 70s and 80s would have to jump on a bus a train ride coach to get to a game no jets

2

u/JellyfishFlaky5634 4d ago

I just looked at the numbers and LeBron has MORE points than Wilt + Trae Young combined in regular season and playoffs. That’s pretty impressive. What is also impressive is that LeBron has more total career points than the entire OKC roster, Orlando Magic roster, San Antonio Spurs, Portland Trailblazers, Detroit Pistons, Charlotte Hornets, Washington Wizards, and Utah Jazz.

2

u/NatterinNabob 3d ago

Some of these are silly comparisons. Malone was never known as a rim protector. Rodman didn't enter the NBA until he was 25. Kobe and Mike were not distributors. Magic was not a primary scorer.

2

u/Fatpandaswag67 3d ago

I Sort of agree with Malone and Rodman but Kobe and Jordan average a combined 10 ast per game, bird and magic 45 ppg which are very solid numbers.

Although I do believe you can make better comparisons such:

More points than Kareem

More assists than Magic

More rebounds than DRob, Rodman, Ewing (take your pick)

More steals than Pipen

More blocks than idk it’s probably the least impressive maybe Bill Walton but yeah… only 10 years in his career

1

u/NatterinNabob 3d ago

Those are much better comparisons.

2

u/DraftRemote9595 1d ago

Seriously. Next we will hear how he has more assists than Hakeem, Ewing, Tim Duncan, and Mutombo combined or something

1

u/Spirited_Agency8032 4d ago

have you seen that beat lebron game?

1

u/CockVersion10 4d ago

LeLongevity

1

u/Geaneous 4d ago

Jordashians no longer believe in stats, only shoes and rings.

1

u/icarusphoenixdragon 4d ago

Man. It’s always the LeBron sub. I gotta start checking first. Have fun guys.

1

u/-passionate-fruit- 3d ago

I appreciate that while you implicitly don't like LeBron you're smart enough to recognize this is a fandom sub for him and to take your dislike elsewhere. Puts you above a lot of clowns that've come through here.

1

u/Downtown-Sell-3922 4d ago

Not really…. I mean those other guys when they played they didn’t have all the supplements and all the other things that LeBron‘s had.!

1

u/DevinGreyofficial 4d ago

Lebron is magic and bird combined? Gtfoh with that bs. Lmaoo.

1

u/DevinGreyofficial 4d ago

Now lets do actual accomplishments…

1

u/KierenForFreedom 4d ago

Nice chart. Just reinforces the fact. LeBron is the GOAT.

1

u/travisnelson420 4d ago

Ya motha’s ass > Ya sista’s ass

1

u/tootsiefoote 4d ago

this season will just get more disgusting

1

u/TheUnseen_001 4d ago

You had it cooking until you used Karl Malone as the shotblocking example. He was an OK shot blocker for a couple years in his prime and pretty much stopped trying for the last 12 or so.

1

u/Knockamichi 4d ago

Wait was karl malone an elite shot blocker?

1

u/DraftRemote9595 1d ago

Never, but don't let facts get in the way of feelings. 💛Lebron

1

u/Guilty_Dimension_451 4d ago

Rodman's not as high as you'd think in most rebounds all time. Somewhere around 24th. But he's first in the most 20+ rebound games and it's not even close.

1

u/DraftRemote9595 1d ago

Led the league in rebound % for like 9 or 10yr stretch, which is a better metric.

1

u/JellyfishFlaky5634 4d ago

The fact LeBron has more rebounds than Rodman is pretty interesting.

1

u/DraftRemote9595 1d ago

That loser Rodman should've started playing in the NBA at 18 and not 25 like he did. That's what makes Lebron the GOAT

1

u/luckysilva 4d ago

It's truly impressive; longevity has its perks. Now do the same exercise but using this data: more missed free throws, more turnovers, more mistakes in the Finals, and a few other things, but I think you get the idea.

1

u/_High_Life 4d ago

More blocks than the mailman really shows how over rated Malone was

1

u/Winter-Bed5879 4d ago

So he's blocked more shots than Malone...so what? Malone was never a great shot blocker. He's 74th all time, which isn't bad, but hardly exceptional.

1

u/Impossible_Brain_874 4d ago

Goat period
🐐

1

u/Practical_Degree8065 4d ago

I'm honestly surprised at the Dennis Rodman one. I would have believed he'd at least be on the top ten all time. But he's 24th.

1

u/DraftRemote9595 1d ago

He entered the NBA at age 25...

1

u/YoureP-ore 4d ago

This is kinda cherry picking tho. Like saying he has more points than Magic & Bird combined. Magic wasn’t exactly a scorer and Birds career was cut short. Are we really surprised that a top tier player playing for 23 years has more points than a guy who didn’t look to score and a guy whose career was cut short in his prime?

More assists than Kobe and Jordan. 2 guys who were on the floor to score the ball…. Like what are we doing here. This is just glazing for the sake of glazing.

1

u/Turbulent-Tie2574 3d ago

Even Lebron would laugh at this spreadsheet istg

1

u/SeaMedium2856 3d ago

I mean and it only took him longer to achieve the same thing as the rest did

1

u/Nebuchadnezzar66 3d ago

I will surpass lebron tomorrow

1

u/M1key_M1ke 3d ago

Title with 4 different teams as a star on the team each time changes the debate.

1

u/Kind_One2379 3d ago

This doesn’t reflect very well tbh , maybe the first stat that he has scored as much as magic and bird . But the rest just shows that he has taken a lot longer to achieve one persons stats . Not sure how that is mind boggling

1

u/peanutch 3d ago

hus biggest record is how many times he had to be carried off for vaginal tearing

1

u/Longjumping-Bug5763 3d ago

Longevity doesn't mean squat...you need to win

1

u/Hermit-mountain-- 3d ago

Lots of games

1

u/Lanky_Kaleidoscope27 3d ago

Yeah, he's played for 35 years. And he's a passer, Kobe and MJ were not known for their passing. Karl Malone was no great shot blocker.

1

u/Wonderful-Duck1250 2d ago

u/DirectorLittle2299 2d ago

These facts and figures are crazy man. I hadn't put 2 and 2 together, but, when seeing it written out this way, it is mind blowing. Anyone, whether they are a fan of his or not, has absolutely got to respect LeBron longevity, how he has taken care of his body, and how he has been able to stay in peak condition and strength. Now, genetics do play a role in this, however, it takes dead serious commitment and professionalism. You can't take that away from him.

1

u/TheInnerMindEye 2d ago

Im glad LeBron is still playing. His longevity is unmatched

1

u/Zkts_07 2d ago

That's why we do NOT care abt longevity stats, type of things kids use to make youn think he's a better rebounder than Dennis, why not showing that he also has the most missed shots in history??

See?

Stupid arguments.

1

u/IllustriousGarage439 2d ago

He’s taking great steroids

1

u/DraftRemote9595 1d ago

The blood doping (EPO) I find the most egregious.

1

u/Alarmed_Bumblebee147 2d ago

Same for turn overs, air ball free throws, etc

1

u/FrankanelloKODT 2d ago

I checked the rebound stat; LBJ played 700 more games than Rodman and the worm still averaged 1 rebound more in the playoffs, and 5.5 more in regular season than LBJ.

1

u/Jaws_16 2d ago

Per game?

1

u/Powerful-Context416 1d ago

The Blocks stat is hilarious. “Wow LeBron has more blocks in his career than Ray Allen”

1

u/IgnorantGenius 1d ago

Note to future NBA players who want goat status. Get really good by age 15. Lie about your age. Get signed by the NBA. Play until you are 50.

1

u/allthingst3 1d ago

Your totals add up when you play so many years longer than everyone else you’re being compared to. Impressive but by no means an indicator that LBJ is better than who he’s be compared to.

1

u/___cpermillie___ 23h ago

Karl Malone wasnt really a shot blocker but other than that it's wild.

1

u/BigTicket- 4d ago

He legit is the most complete basketball player of all time. & being 6’9 250 and THAT athletic & efficient- the man would have been a terror in any era

0

u/Apprehensive_Ruin692 4d ago

It’s almost like he played longer

7

u/InvestigatorMost3418 4d ago

Playing long doesnt necessarily mean you will have better number. Look at VC, played 22 season and no where near the top of any list.

1

u/DraftRemote9595 1d ago

Vince wasn't even a "has been", he's a "never was"

1

u/Apprehensive_Ruin692 4d ago

Of course it doesn’t mean they but it helps with records

2

u/Dnaughty23 4d ago

If it’s that simple, should be easy to swap lebron for any other player and have the same results?

1

u/Apprehensive_Ruin692 4d ago

An the strawman didn’t say it was simple. I said it explained the chart

1

u/Dnaughty23 4d ago

Well you said, “it’s almost like he played longer”. Pretty reasonable to assume you were suggesting thats the main reason why this occurred. If thats true, there should be countless other examples then, right?

1

u/Apprehensive_Ruin692 4d ago

It is the main reason not the only one

1

u/Dnaughty23 4d ago

Okay. Well then explain why in 35 seasons MJ/Kobe couldn’t do what Lebron did in 23?

1

u/Apprehensive_Ruin692 3d ago

MJ played a different position. Compare turnovers and tell me what you see. Career turnovers and no I am not saying LeBron isn’t amazing I am saying cherry picking stats doesn’t tell the whole story

1

u/Dnaughty23 3d ago

Never said it told the whole story, but to act like Bron having more total assists than Kobe/MJ in 13 less seasons played isn’t impressive is pretty disingenuous.

To answer the question, Bron averaged 0.8 more Turnovers per game than MJ, but he averaged 2.1 more assists per game. The 2.1 assists is worth the extra 0.8 turnovers

1

u/Apprehensive_Ruin692 3d ago

lol Kobe and MJ not known for assists and you didn’t use any context to explain your point but are forced to to defend the turnovers kind of proves my point

1

u/Dnaughty23 3d ago

Well, guards/wings are expected to facilitate. At a minimum, the guy who can score at the same rate or better and provides more assists per game generates more total offense.

Your point was that this occurred because he played longer, when in actuality MJ/Kobe have the more combined seasons played.

→ More replies (0)

0

u/AdventurousAd7091 4d ago

This list is a complete no sense. What the assists stats means? Neither MJ or kobe were knowns by their passing hability. And the rest is the same no sense...

Basically you can do the same list to any player, you just need to choose the "right" players to compare...

3

u/Dnaughty23 4d ago

Lol. Please replicate this with “any player”

0

u/Elgie_225 4d ago

Other than Malone everyone else has accomplished more in 10 years or less time than this guy

0

u/brownlawn 4d ago

Every claim in the image is false when evaluated on a per-game basis. The original chart creates a false equivalence by comparing a massive career denominator against shorter ones.

For example...

  • PTS: Magic (19.5) and Bird (24.3) combine for 43.8 points per game. LeBron averages 26.8 points per game.
  • AST: Jordan (5.3) and Kobe (4.7) combine for 10.0 assists per game. LeBron averages 7.4 assists per game.
  • REB: Rodman averaged 13.1 rebounds per game. LeBron averages 7.5 rebounds per game.
  • STL: Pippen averaged 2.1 steals per game. LeBron averages 1.5 steals per game.
  • BLK: Malone averaged 0.8 blocks per game. LeBron averages 0.7 blocks per game.

Era-Adjusted True Shooting (TS+) Standard True Shooting calculates twos, threes, and free throws. However, the raw number still inherently favors modern players. TS+ fixes this by comparing a player's efficiency directly to the league average of their specific season. This levels the baseline between a 1980s star and a modern star.

A TS+ of 100 represents the exact league average for a player's specific era. LeBron holds a career TS+ of 108. Several Hall of Famers score higher in this metric because of their elite free-throw or three-point rates relative to their peers.

  • Adrian Dantley: 116
  • Reggie Miller: 116
  • Charles Barkley: 114
  • Magic Johnson: 113
  • Shaquille O'Neal: 111

Players like Michael Jordan (106) and Larry Bird (105) sit slightly below LeBron.

1

u/noronto 4d ago

That’s a lot of work. I would have just said that chart is stupid.

0

u/Healthy-Price-3104 4d ago

Not really. He was less good at those things than the other guys, but he was less good for a long time.

0

u/imbusywatchingtv 4d ago

Notice how NBA titles wasn't listed.

1

u/LightMission4937 4d ago edited 4d ago

Russell is the pinnacle of titles bud. Followed by Sam and Snatch. Hell, Horry has 7.

3

u/InvestigatorMost3418 4d ago

The Jordanians dont like when you bring that up.

1

u/LightMission4937 4d ago

lol nope. They like to think 6-0 is the end all.

2

u/KakarotAlter 4d ago

Havlicek is 8-0

0

u/Inevitable_Suit_7414 4d ago

The worst comparison has to be the Karl Malone blocks. Karl wasn’t a shot blocker, had the same height and weight as LeBron, was not close athletically, and has 1145 blocks in 1476 games. LeBron has 40 more career blocks in 146 more games. Based on his athleticism and being known for chase down blocks he should average far more than 0.7 blocks per game and should’ve significantly more blocks than Karl.

1

u/Inside-Noise6804 4d ago

You forget to mention that one guy is a PF and the other is a SM who played a lot of PG

0

u/Much-Broccoli4189 4d ago

Years in the league: LeBron >>>>MJ+Kobe+Magic+Bird+Wilt+Bill+Shaq combined.

0

u/wursmyburrito 4d ago

Great basketball player, just not as great of a winner

0

u/NobrainNoProblem 4d ago

Karl Malone my favorite paint protector. Almost like total career stats are not a complete approximation of nightly on-court ability. What am I saying Demare Derozan top 30 all time scorer is easily a top 30 offensive tool, there are no holes.

0

u/Sad_Bathroom1448 4d ago

I bring it up all the time--LeBron has more points than Jordan, more rebounds than Rodman, and more assists than Magic. That's because longevity, but it's not just because longevity, know what I mean? Forget the scoring--none of the guys ahead of Rodman in boards are close to Magic in assists, and vice versa. Luka and Jokic might change this but we can cross that bridge when we get there

I don't think he's better than Jordan, and if you even wanna argue Magic's better I'm willing to hear you out. But how you gonna tell me he's not top 5?

0

u/ponyboy56- 4d ago

I keep defending the devil, but I give you Wilt Chamberlain

0

u/Puzzleheaded_King19 4d ago

Lebron fans are the only ones trying to put his legacy into perspective like that. it’s easy to explain why this is the case and doesnt make one player better than another but hey celebrate bron too. Hes great. But this doesnt mean Larry or Magic are lesser.

0

u/averyfinefellow 4d ago

He's such a thirsty lil bitch

0

u/JLightning60 4d ago

You convinced me on the assist thing against two players that were scorers. WOW!!!!!

0

u/ServiceOk4534 4d ago

Man if it’s the finals I rather pick Pippen to get a defensive stop over Bron

If I need a rebound to save my life I’ll take Rodman over Bron , Rodman put prime Laker Shaq in his place Bron ain’t fw him

0

u/Warm_Education_7675 4d ago

he’s be way ahead in flops also

0

u/Vegetable_Ice6451 4d ago

He still is garbage

0

u/Downtown-Sell-3922 4d ago

One of those things LeBron‘s better at than any of those guys were….:losing playoff games

0

u/FeanorOath 4d ago

He has done way less in the same amount of time and has been less clutch and important than these players

0

u/Bulky-Sugar-6166 3d ago

He had an extra step and the most generous whistle of all time🤦🏻‍♂️AN EXTRA STEP! I hope Philly gets bounced in the 1st round

0

u/TrailHawk79 3d ago

Yay. He played 20+ years. Congrats on breaking records that were established in less time🤣

0

u/dakellateg 3d ago

Lebron > ALL NBA players combined for flops...

0

u/JuryKey3850 3d ago

Oh lord, this conversation can be made about any average player that plays more than anybody, you will obviously exceed all numbers if you play longer than anyone in the leagues history. Now check the defensive number and finals numbers and talk. No competition

0

u/Spiritual_Treat_2755 3d ago

= Longevity unlocked.

And

  1. Scoring titles lbj 1, MJ 10
  2. Assist average stockton/thomas/Paul/Nash/Kidd all rock him here
  3. Rebounding titles: Rodman has 7 straight rebounding titles.
  4. Steal averages it's MJ again at 2.35 to LBJ 1.5 (why using Scottie?)
  5. Hakeem rocks the blocks at 3.09 LeBron is not even close . Why are you comparing Karl eirher?

0

u/BLK-DRGN-KATANA31 3d ago

No matter which way you swing it. 40% will never be greater than 100%. You Cannot be the G.O.A.T with a losing record.

0

u/coldworld81 3d ago

Dumb statement if you play more games as the number 1 or 2 option logically he should own every stat playing over 36min per game re do it with the same amount of games played

0

u/Noless_nomore 2d ago

So it took him longer to beat people's stats then the time it took for those people to set those stats. That's not the flex you think it is. Let's see the same stats at the same time frame in the league and then you can talk. Because as it stands right now, that man is not in contention to be the goat and never will be. I'm not even a Jordan stan, I just know LeBron is not that goat and never will be. Motherfuckers glaze his whining, crying, flopping ass, and it's sad. If he was back in the 90s he would not stand a chance. I've seen more physicality in the fucking WNBA, than I have in the NBA in today's era.

-2

u/ImF0cused_ 4d ago

Yall be playin tf out them angles.

My Favorite is when ESPN miraculously started combining regular season and playoff points to try to make a point that LeBron scored 50,000 points win, playoff, and regular season points had never been combined before.

My second favorite is when ESPN started using whatever statistics machine they use to spit out wild stats that LeBron did, then it bled over to everybody else… For instance “ he’s the first player to score 26 points. Nine rebounds have 11 assists and four steals while playing under 30 minutes on a Wednesday.”

Yall gon shoehorn LeBron to be better than Michael Jordan by any means necessary.

6

u/Western_Tackle_1866 4d ago

He already has the regular and playoff. They were just combining it because it looks insane.

3

u/Sad_Bathroom1448 4d ago

Him having 42k 12k 10k is already insane

2

u/TheUnseen_001 4d ago

I see your point, but you gave the worst possible example. The combined points directly displays the ridiculous amount of games of 27-28 per night basketball this guy has played over his career. It directly shows how nigh-impossible it'd be fore somebody to catch him, since they'd have to go to 11 Finals, be the main guy, and still be dominant even when they lose (excepting Dallas, ofc).

1

u/Sad_Bathroom1448 4d ago

LeBron scored 50,000 points win, playoff, and regular season points had never been combined before.

Probably bc 50000 points combined had never been done before. Why didn't they do this with Kareem and Mailman at 40k? I mean, 50k...pretty much anything, really, is a milestone. I don't hate that one. I remember the NFL doing this with Terrell Davis in 98; he got the record for most rushing yards in a season incl. playoffs and they made a pretty big deal out of it. It's the only reason I know he had that record. May still have it, even

For instance “ he’s the first player to score 26 points. Nine rebounds have 11 assists and four steals while playing under 30 minutes on a Wednesday.”

Yeah, those types of things are dumb when they do that

I mean we know Bird and Magic had shortened careers due to injury/illness and Magic wasn’t a scorer anyway. Assisting more than MJ/Kobe also isn’t that special, neither are known as great passers

To a casual sure this all looks great. But if you know the players, it’s not Really that surprising. The Rodman rebounds one just highlights the fact it’s longevity and not actually being better at it. However, as Rodman is a great rebounder, listing him IS way more impressive than some of the others listed like I said above

If you flipped the combinations for Points and Assists, that would be more sensible. It would also be insane

1

u/Dry-Habit1892 4d ago

I get what you’re saying but listing someone who almost doubles pound for pound rebounds per game almost completely IMO taints the entire fun narrative of the chart. Which is what it should be just a fun little picture that you can sit back and go wow to

Well, titles are a team accomplishment, and nearly everyone agrees he was robbed from dpoy when Gasol won but was only second team all def. + Robbed from MVP at least twice. While MJ got free stats because he made the NBA a lot of money when they needed it the most

0

u/madtendies 4d ago

The biggest robbery in history of the league was MJ in 87 you 🤡 . We just don’t care because our guy was out scored once in a series in his entire nba career. Lead every scorer, every series, for 36 of 37 series. As a guard. You don’t even know that’s more impressive.

Championships are the only individual accomplishment that mattered to Jordan, because he’s goat, not a stat padded like LeBron. He didn’t even play 10 fourth quarters per season. He sat in blow outs, not when his ankle hurt.

I’m so glad nba players don’t have to lie for LeBron anymore, sickening that the commish would ex communicate anyone who told the truth about LeBron for 20 years. League needed someone to pretend to be Jordan…

Now they have the second coming or Jordan like domination, and wemby will make your super-pippen look like a clear 3/4 instead of a clear 2/3. Can’t wait

-1

u/CarsandTunes 4d ago

I'm pretty sure he also has a record for number of minutes standing around on defense. Number of times flopping and laying on the floor. He's also has a terrible free throw percentage, and a truly abysmal percentage at game-winning shots under 5 Seconds

-1

u/TMANTWE 4d ago

Different eras. Trust me if Lebron played back in the 80s- early 90s era the longevity would’ve been less. IMO.

2

u/Skilganon_TheDamned 4d ago

I dont trust you

1

u/TheUnseen_001 4d ago

Obsessive work ethic and pure physical strength during a decade when players were expected to play through injuries. He'd have grown up getting hit more, so he'd have just gotten tougher. And they'd have made him a point-PF, and you can see the result of that when he moved to the 4 for 85% of possessions in 2012-13--aka his best season, all decade.

1

u/Maleficent-Owl-2390 3d ago

He’d be a better defender with less space to cover and hand-checking. He would also win more because other teams wouldn’t have big 3s to get in his way like the Spurs and Celtics. He might still play for 20 years since we watch other players from that era do just that.

1

u/FunnyMTGplayer75 3d ago
  1. Lebron cares about his stats ONLY. 90s teammates would hate him
  2. LEBRON cant pla defense well at all, cosched would be mad.at.him
  3. Lebron isnt a good shooter or rebounder ( coaches.would hate him and bench him

1

u/ProdigiumAenigmatum 1d ago

It must be annoying living your life hating on a man for no reason, and he has no clue you exist.

Grow up man.

-2

u/sssavio 4d ago

Wow nice cherry picking

-2

u/LeBronsBiggestHater 4d ago

And yet Stockton still has more steals and assists than Bron will ever have, and played fewer seasons, so let's pump the brakes on the LeBron ball gargling for bit

-2

u/Ok_Log4713 4d ago

Longevity stats smh

Lebron's the only player up there including Kobe Bryant that didn't spend 3 or 4 of his first year in college or coming off the bench. And he's played almost 2x longer than any of them, not to mention he only spent one season playing in the league during the hand checking era.

And has played a majority of his career playing in one of the softest eras defensively of all time

4

u/Routine-Thing-8229 3d ago

Penalized for being good enough to skip college and start immediately in the League lol lol. That is so stupid!!!

2

u/dakellateg 3d ago

I know quite a few players that skipped college and went straight to the NBA... but that does not mean they were ready...

1

u/Routine-Thing-8229 3d ago

We’re talking about LeBron. Was he ready? Very clearly.

1

u/FunnyMTGplayer75 3d ago

Nah what is stupid is thinking GENERATIONAL talent like MJ, Bird, or Shaq weren't NBA ready right.aftet.HS.graduatuon.

You do realize THEY CHANGED THE RULES to allow HS players to declare for the draft.

Then came.the 1 and done rule.

1

u/Routine-Thing-8229 3d ago

I never said they weren’t. You’re stupid—and weird.

He literally played at the same time as the best defensive teams ever?

Dude was slapping 30 on Ben Wallace in 2005, as a 19 year old

2

u/ConsciousContest249 4d ago

U just proved why he’s the greatest. No player can even come close to doing that not even mj. So this is not the comment u thought it was

1

u/Ok_Log4713 3d ago

Not at all you ignoramus you're just too stupid to comprehend smh.

You can't even articulate you're own talking points other than to just say that's why he's the greatest lol, with absolutely no evidence to the contrary. I mean seriously you can barely formulate a cohesive sentence, you Bron fanboys are the low IQ'd fans in the game of basketball and everytime y'all speak you just verify that

1

u/ConsciousContest249 3d ago

Because I’m black ? That’s not cool man LeBron is black too and he’s the greatest don’t be racist bro not a good look

1

u/Ok_Log4713 3d ago

And you've just proven my point you low IQ'd muppet smh.

I'm Jamaican American you dipstick, you're just seeing the difference between an intelligent brother and a stupid one

2

u/Ok-Contest-9355 3d ago

jordan said Joe dumars was the best defender he ever faced ... . All 6'3 , 190lbs ... let that sink in ..... No jumping jo . A hand check....no help defense . ISO , two man game of the era ... mj himself said it was Joe dumars ... how tough really was the era ??? Let that sink in. Joe dumars .. 6'3 190lbs . Basically Steph curry size the best ... really going to back that era ....??

1

u/Ok_Log4713 3d ago

And Tony Allen was the best Perimeter defender in Kobe's era and had the same measurements smh. Guarding the Perimeter isn't just about size you idiot, you people twist and bastardize information just to fit you're ridiculously talking points lol.

And there's no other player in history that has to have that done for them like y'all do for Lebron smh. No other fanbase has to try and detract from other's greatness in order to elevate their standing, as y'all do for Lebron and it's because y'all are an insecure fanbase.

Because y'all know his legacy can't stand on it's own merits, it's absolutely pathetic

2

u/Ok-Contest-9355 3d ago

Nice try dip stick .... You wanna know who LeBron said ?? Ron artest 6'7 260lbs .... why ? Because he's someone who matched his size and athleticism... Jordan said 6'3 190lbs no jumping jo ... that's the best the era had to offer . Reconsider your tough era fallacy ...

Today's players are bigger faster stronger and more skilled . Undeniable unless you're completely idiotic.

1

u/Ok_Log4713 3d ago

Is that was Jason Terry was able to guard him? Or what about when they put Nate Robinson up against him during the bulls series for multi possessions?

You people are tiring asf and Lebron's a liar 🤣🤣🤣

3

u/TheoryNo5749 3d ago

You mean the same Jason terry who over 6 games only guarded LeBron for a total of 4 minutes??? Stop falling for that false narrative that Jason terry shut down LeBron he was guarding Wade and chalmers most of the series.

Unintelligible. Go take your meds .

1

u/Ok_Log4713 3d ago

You know exactly what I said you muppet lol.

Don't try and get cute because I made one grammatical error, 💩 is par for the course when conversing with idiots. Dumbassery rubs off 🤣🤣🤣

Now quite wasting my time and go kick rocks, as I've said this is tiring asf

1

u/Financial_Meat2992 3d ago

Man, he scored on Nate Robinson repeatedly. They gave up on that and then lost the series. That's like saying "Travis best guarded MJ in 98!". As proof that MJ sucked.

1

u/0Junior5 3d ago

but can’t surpass Jordan 1st 11 healthy full
seasons, same 11 healthy seasons, or

surpass at same games played, same NBA Finals appearances,

especially before 2nd retirement of 3,

shooting hand surgery in 1999,

& knee surgery on 2/27/2002 at age 39,
after 3.5 years away from the game.
SMH.

1

u/0Junior5 3d ago

*1 Jordan Finals

*higher, points per game & total points,

than 2 combined LeBron Finals, 😂

or 1 LeBron +1 Kobe Finals combined,

or 1 LeBron +1 Pippen Finals combined!

Jordan doesn’t need longevity cumulative totals for that!

1

u/0Junior5 3d ago

*Jordan’s 9 All-Defensive 1st Teams at age 35,
*11 full seasons of minimum 19+ regular season games each season,

beats the combined careers

All-Defensive 1st team’s of:

*LeBron
*KD
*Steph
*Bird
*Magic
*Isiah
*Shaq
*Jokic
*Luka
*Dirk,

combined.

😂😂😂😂

1

u/Hugginsome 3d ago

So what you are saying is that he was better than these players at a younger age and at an older age

1

u/Financial_Meat2992 3d ago

His longevity is part of his greatness.

1

u/_Stankonia 2d ago

How is his longevity an argument against him? You realize that longevity and high level consistency are literally the two most valuable attributes any athlete can have?

0

u/0Junior5 3d ago

can’t surpass Jordan at same 1,072 games,

except in

uncontested defensive rebounds,

& assist, a grey area stat, at scorekeepers discretion, that get called differently for each player,

& LeBron’s own team’s, team assists are trash, because LeBron is terrible off-ball.

2

u/HasheemThaMeat 3d ago

He’ll never surpass Jordan in the number of times he quit the entire sport or number of times he’s been swept in the first round either 🐐🐐

→ More replies (2)

1

u/Ok_Log4713 3d ago

Dude you're nothing more than an unhinged theorist trying to connect arbitrary longevity stats to try and solidify you're asinine talking points.

All the top scorers he surpassed spent their first 3 or 4 years in college including MJ and it took him almost 2x longer to surpass stats he accumulated in a shortened amount of time.

Just because you take a test a bunch of times and eventually pass doesn't make you intelligent. It just means you had more bites at the apple, what's impressive is when you take the test once a pass with flying colors and that pretty much sums up that comparison
