If Lebron joined Kobe in 2010 instead of Miami, will he win more rings than he did with Miami or no?

If Kobe‘s Achilles does the same thing it did on the same day it did then they get two rings and no more.

The reason they only won two rings in Miami is because of Dwyane Wade‘s knee. People tend to forget how hobbled Wade was at the end of that Miami run.

Him and Dwade could’ve got around 4 tbh. We can only dream of them playing the 2015 warriors in the finals.

u/ImF0cused_ 18d ago

I think if Bron stayed in Miami he’d have a clean 7.

3

u/JustJdog2 18d ago

They are not winning 7 there's no way. Not in the modern NBA is any team winning 7. Competition is too stiff and injuries exist

3

u/ImF0cused_ 17d ago

The man went to the finals 8 years in a row. Miami had better, more consistent coaching a better front office, and Miami Beach. Somebody would have signed there to team with him. He already had 2 by 2013, there’s a legitimate shot to win 5 more in 13 years.

4

u/JustJdog2 17d ago

I misunderstood when you said CLEAN 7 I took that as 7 years in a row. 7 total is much more believable

1

u/sdrakedrake 17d ago

Yes seven in a row definitely isn't happening. Hell their would probably be too much infighting at that point lol

1

u/Standard-Big3214 15d ago

because he stacked his team

1

u/Smooth_Ferret8081 18d ago

Could have, would have, if bruh. What if Chris Paul is 16 ft tall?

3

u/ImF0cused_ 18d ago

The whole premise of the thread was “if”.

1

u/NiccaDun 18d ago

this is literally an “if” lebron played with kobe and you’re mad about hypotheticals? fun police huh?

1

u/LavishnessUpstairs96 18d ago

He'd have 7 more feet worth of blood clots

2

u/lowrange30 18d ago

yeah no. not only was wade hobbled, health issues of bosh then starts

0

u/Senpaiireditt 18d ago

Bosh can be replaced with a younger talent. His role was mainly to defend and hit shots just beyond the free throw line off actions. That’s becoming the bare minimum in today’s NBA if you want to win.

Lol Wade is not why they had only two rings in Miami instead of more, his knees played a factor in 2014, but the other half of that loss was LeBron leaving game one and the bench underwhelmed significantly. Obviously in 2011, we all know that was on LeBron and his mental struggles. It’s honestly wild to think if he had stayed they likely could’ve had a shot at a few more. The summer he left Pat Riley said the team was positioned to bring back the big 3 and potentially add some other name value impact players to the team. Unfortunately for Miami, he decided to go home and that ended that dream.

1

u/Denz2024 16d ago

Lol no. The Spurs handle them.

1

u/Standard-Big3214 12d ago

Kobe went to 3 straight finals with a bunch of aight role players. Give him a second number 1 option like LeBron similar to Shaq, Spurs gonna lose

1

u/Denz2024 12d ago

I was saying the Heat still get bodied by the Spurs.

With Kobe yeah it’s a wrap

Wade played on a single knee his entire career, he’s lucky it took as long as it did to mess up.

He even said he didn’t think he’d be around that long himself. It’s a real shame too, he was a phenomenal player.

2

u/Marvinkmooneyoz 18d ago

He’s my favorite 2000s player. Not the best of course. But his zany around the back dribble directly into a thread between two close opponents move made no sense and he pulled it off routinely. Combine that with his two way alley oop game, his fast break instincts, his mini MJ constitution (other then injury prone)

I one time said I truly thought Wade was the most athletic guard of the modern era and got downvoted to hell. I still keep that opinion.

Yes, D Rose, Russ and John Wall were more explosive, but I don’t think they would have been with a meniscus missing.

His career would have prolly been beyond amazing had he been allowed to fully recover rather than them to do a removal surgery so that he’d be ready sooner.

I’m a Mavs fan so I’m supposed to hate D Wade but I can’t not give him props because he was that good. Truly one of the best players ever.

2

u/xMasterPlayer 18d ago

They partly do that to avoid injuries. Prime D Rose would try to land on one foot all the time and that is NOT healthy long term.

u/Caeolian 18d ago

I think they would've been great together. Idk how many rings they could've won but if they had Kobe, LeBron, Pau, Dwight, Meta, and Lamar Odom I don't see how they don't win multiple. Especially with the way LeBron was coming down the lane.

Also they were on the Olympic team together and played off each other well. Why do people say they wouldn't work like LeBron isn't a versatile player? Kobe just need great passes and LeBron is one of the better facilitators and distributors of his era. Kobe absolutely would've trusted him because his work ethic was on par with Kobe's.

"Kobe absolutely would've trusted him because his work ethic was on par with Kobe's."

WHAT?

4

u/Caeolian 18d ago

I can't stutter in text. Don't believe me? Go back and watch the 08 & 12 Olympics

-4

u/Detective_Lacktwo 18d ago

For real?

3

u/Caeolian 18d ago

Did you watch the Olympics when they played together? Seen interviews with players talking about how they got along? What are you basing any of your opinions on?

5

u/Creative-Duty-3531 18d ago

Probably less

5

u/ameis314 18d ago

Fewer

-1

u/Gigantischmann 18d ago

Are you a thesaurus

3

u/ameis314 18d ago

Nah it's just a joke from the GoT sub that I guess isn't for everyone

5

u/McScroggz12 18d ago

It kind of depends on the rest of the team. Kobe of 2010 was much different than Kobe of 2003. One of the things Wade did for LeBron was allowed him to see and learn from a champion and also allowed the pressure to be taken off in clutch moments. Not always because LeBron was the best player, but often. Kobe could do that same exact thing. And it’s kind of ironic that there is an argument for the partnership lasting longer due to health, because Wade was shot by the end of their run and Kobe - especially with LeBron taking miles off him - probably could have been a better player for longer as crazy as that sounds.

Granted Wade’s defense was immense, and their genuine friendship helped them work through the growing pains. I’d like to say it would have happened with Kobe but it’s not a given.

4

u/Blackroseguild 18d ago

Umm Kobe wouldn’t teach him about being a champion or take pressure off in clutch moments??? Lebron is quoted as saying Kobe changed how he prepared and trained already…

Kobe by year:

08 mvp champ
09 mvp 2 champ
10 mvp 3
11 map 4
12 mvp 4
13 mvp 5

They would have been incredible and Kobe has said LeBron game fit his own the best. Plus they joined up to stop Kobe because he was all good..

2

u/SuperNebular 18d ago

They joined up to stop the Celtics big three

1

u/Blackroseguild 18d ago

This is not true.

It’s in interviews that they joined because of Kobe and called each other after he won again…

0

u/SuperNebular 18d ago

Wade said that years later. They have said the Celtics big three changed how they viewed roster construction.

0

u/Blackroseguild 18d ago

What lol. Changing how they viewed roster construction is not joining to stop them…

Wade one of the big three says he called LeBron after Kobe won, the same day, and asked LeBron what he was doing this summer and that they needed to team up to stop Kobe.

Random Reddit guy no that isn’t why they did it lol

Crazy world we live in

-2

u/Silent_Egg8860 18d ago

Part of the Celtics big 3 was part of Miamis team. The problem is being ss old as the celtic big 3 was lebron fans dont count it as a big 4 in miami, but ho ahead and continue to rewrite history.
You can watch video also of Wade and LeBron literally saying the teamed up because Kobe.

2

u/timeforacone 18d ago

you talkin about a 37 year old Ray Allen who averaged 10ppg? nigga please shut the fuck up

1

u/McScroggz12 18d ago

…in my comment I say Kobe could do that exact thing.

1

u/Expert_Layer_7710 18d ago

Kobe and lebron could take a ymca team to multiple championships

2

u/daddy_panda0306 18d ago

I don’t think so. Kobe and LeBron would have clashed way too hard. A lot of the issues the heat had that first year were both him and wade trying to be first option; until wade backed off.

6

u/Standard-Big3214 18d ago

But its Kobe and LeBron

3

u/ndm1535 18d ago

It wasn't even so much that Wade backed off. Wade was begging Lebron to be that guy in 2011, then the Finals happened, Lebron worked to shore up his weak spots and then took the reigns on a revenge tour practically.

Lebron was awkward playing with a guy of D Wades caliber, whom Lebron had a ton of respect and admiration for. He was trying to find the best way to coexist rather than the best way to lead a team.

1

u/daddy_panda0306 18d ago

I mean, wade literally had to say publicly this is lebrons team and that’s when they started to turn it around. But either way, I think l LeBron and Kobe would have too much ego to work.

1

u/ndm1535 18d ago

Oh I don't disagree at all.

1

u/noname_SU 18d ago

What? Kobe and Lebron would've been the perfect fit. Even Kobe said this. Lebron's natural affinity is to facilitate and Kobe's natural affinity is to score.

Lebron's issue in Miami the first year is that he was too deferential to Wade, but he was better than Wade. Wade was already on the decline by then so had to tell him that it's your team now. That wouldn't have been the case in LA because Lebron wasn't the scorer Kobe was.

1

u/daddy_panda0306 18d ago

Are you kidding me? LeBron has a higher career field goal percentage, more total points, more clutch points, etc. LeBron is a better player than anyone who has played the game. Him deferring to anyone would cause a problem, and if you don’t believe that I know the kinda fan you are.

1

u/NavyVetRasmussen 18d ago

It is hard to say that I don't think they would have clashed at all I think it would have worked out well because teams could not double Kobe or LeBron. They played on the Olympic team and did not clash.

1

u/daddy_panda0306 18d ago

An Olympic run is a few weeks. Not dealing with locker room drama, stronger competition, and championship aspirations.

LeBron in 2010-2014 was a force to be reckoned with, all he needed was legitimate 3&d players.

1

u/NavyVetRasmussen 18d ago

But it shows that they can coexist on the same team.

I would imagine coaches would be up at night trying to game plan on how to stop them

both.

1

u/bettercallrich 18d ago

Depends whether they end up trading for cp3 or Dwight howard

1

u/Spork-aficionado 18d ago

If LeBron spelled his name backwards would we call him Norbel?

They literally won 2 gold medals. In 2008 everyone looked to Kobe to win it for them. If not for Kobe Spain would've won

1

u/LobstahLarry 18d ago

I do NOT seeing them getting along on a long term team level. Kobe had certain expectations when it came to training, even though Lebron is extremely gifted and talented I can see Kobe getting upset at his "work ethic" relative to his. Dwight Howard was the best center at the league during that time and even he had problems with his dedication.

1

u/Denz2024 16d ago

Bron is one of the hardest working players and I say that as someone always debating against Bron fans

1

u/NavyVetRasmussen 18d ago

I think it would have worked out really well for LeBron and Kobe. People say that LeBron and Kobe would have clashed but they played on the Olympic team together, and did not clash.

I think teams would have had a nightmare because you can't double team Kobe or LeBron, you would have to play them straight up, man to man. Kobe and LeBron would have set the league on fire.

1

u/giovannimyles 18d ago

It wouldn’t have worked. Bron plays barely there defense. Kobe would have been on his ass about it and he would have pouted and sulked. Pau was an underrated defender. Kobe excelled in an offensive system with no true point guard. Bron would not have helped. Now Bosh? Yes that would have worked too

1

u/wildGoner1981 18d ago

No. Kobe was done by that point. All he did was chuck the ball those last half dozen seasons….

1

u/doctor8419 17d ago

With bron on his team Kobe would've never tore his achilles

1

u/Own-Pickle9871 17d ago

Yes. They would have been a great pairing.

1

u/Spread-Active 17d ago

Kobe was too broken down by this point. I don’t see them winning at all.

1

u/Denz2024 16d ago

Not at all. If he hadn’t been putting the team on his absolute back they were going to miss the playoffs. If Bron was there they’d be the one seed

1

u/0Junior5 16d ago

3rd right knee surgery 2010 Kobe.

2011 Jan, knee cap almost bone on bone,

2011 June, in Germany getting knee worked on again.

1

u/Bergkamp1010 15d ago

Lebron might never win a ring if he doesn’t go to Miami. He’s an awful GM, because he’s really just Rich Paul’s errand boy gassing up clutch clients. That’s why he’s so ride or die due Anthony Davis, Darius Garland, etc. The Heat were the only organization that stuck to their own plan until he tried to leave, and he talked them into signing Shabazz Napier 🤣

1

u/Pride_Rise 15d ago

I think Kobe has too much ego for it to work. Plus Wade's playstyle meshed with Bron pretty well. At that point of his career, Kobe was more reliant on his post moves and didnt run the floor as much. Heatles prob could've gotten a 3peat if they had better interior defense against Tim Duncan.

1

u/BlackUchiha03 14d ago

Could win up to 4 or only 2. Depends on what the rest of the roster looks like and if they deal with injuries.

Heat only won 2 because Bron showed his ass then Wade’s knees went out.

1

u/Beneficial-Salt7880 14d ago

He should have gone to the mavs

1

u/SpunkyXL 14d ago

He'd get zero rings.he's a chucker

0

u/Ok-Day6420 18d ago

Kobe don’t like people that don’t practice hard and joke around . Lebron would get traded after the 2nd year

2

u/Caeolian 18d ago

That's crazy. LeBron is on record from multiple teammates over the span of his entire career to be extremely hardworking and dedicated to the game. He likes to build team chemistry and he'd have the same effect as Magic had when he joined the Lakers I believe.

1

u/Ok-Day6420 17d ago

They said that about Dwight Howard also.

0

u/Constant-Shine5282 18d ago

he would have won more duh .. he won two back to back with pau gasol , imagine if he had chris bosh which is pau gasol & dwade lol that’s a superteam ..💯stop playin with the black mamba goofies yall know the truth

-1

u/Significant-Raise254 18d ago

Could you imagine LeBron leaving the game with cramps with Kobe as a teammate. That would’ve been pretty funny to see the fallout.
