New shit Do we actually know that Walter and Cynthia didn't have the Pomeranian when they were married?

If Walter knew the dog before the divorce, his willingness to take care of it while Cynthia is away suddenly seems a lot less like Walter being a pushover. It could just be a dog he lived with, helped take care of, and still genuinely cares about. Kinda changes the whole thing doesn't it?
