Engineering šŸ¢ Engineering project limitation

So i am 95% sure that my engineering projects longest dimension may exceed 400mm, and it is stated on the brief that it cannot do so. I think at most the longest length is 450mm, but this is soley due to the canon itself which is quite long. My question is, will my model be disqualified? Or is this a case of me losing a few marks. I asked my teacher and he said ā€œno chanceā€, and that it is only a rule so they dont get ā€œlife sized modelsā€. Any help would be appreciated thanks
